So somewhere in the 90's (i think) i used to play an arcade game that used a bat for home run derby.
It was caged in with chain link.
I wanted to get the kids home run derby for the quest, but unfortunately it only works on the 2 and up (unless there is some way to force the install on the original quest).
My wife thinks i'm slipping or getting old because i haven't given the kids anything they could get hurt with in a while, so maybe this would be a good choice (if it really exists still).
Anyone seen one in a while? I really have no idea of how the game ran or the actual model, but i'm pretty sure ICE made it.
For it's time it was very advanced.

Yes i did a search. Most searches for home run derby had either no responses or dead link.

Thanks, that looks like it.
Did it run on a pc? Shall i assume you don't need their old projection tv?
Was it just a bat, pc, tv and some software?

The bat had a reflective tape material on it and there's a sensor above the batter that picks up the swinging motion.

There were 2 versions. To my knowledge the original machine ran on a Sony Playstation and was one player
only as seen here:

The 2 player version had a base behind the fence which contained a PC
and a second player could throw pitches with a trackball.

The kids used to beat the hell out of the expensive bats. I found that $3
wiffle ball bats wrapped in DOT-3 reflective tape worked just fine.

I probably even have a restore CD buried in my archives for this still.

Aside from the bat abuse, we never had any problem with it. It was good earner
and never broke down.

Well, that makes sense, because at the boardwalk the base of the tv cabinet was open one time we were there and i remember seeing a playstation.
Honestly, i thought my memory was messed up so i didn't mention it it because you guys would say i was insane.

Not at all. A bunch of DDR's have Playstation 2's in them. Unfortunately it's a modded board so if it fails
you can't replace it with an off the shelf PS2.
