Hi everybody.

I already have a number of tokens and mechs that work on Imonex Mechs with a sticker with the following info on them - V9 861 AxA #120-900-25

The tokens are approx 22mm -23mm or 0.90 inches in size (see attached pics for reference).

If somebody can confirm which size tokens these mechs accept to help with my search, and if you happen to have any of these available, please let me know.

EDIT: We have since confirmed that our existing tokens and mechs work with a token size of .860

If you have any of these available, I'd be keen to buy up to 50 of them.

Many thanks.

You really don't want to get into using .861 tokens and mechs. These were a unique size specially made for Aladdin's Castle and later used by Namco when they purchased the chain.

The .900 would be a much better choice as both the mechs and the tokens are far more plentiful and subsequently cheaper and easier to find and amass.

Basically, .900 or .984 are the best choices for those who enjoy running on tokens in their home game rooms.

Unfortunately I'm already down the rabbit hole with this size token and mech.

Are you 100% sure my mechs are for .861 tokens? How big are these tokens?

My tokens appear to be measuring around 22-23mm or .90 inches in diameter.

Well, from the pictures you provided up there, it looks to me like you have a .861 coin mech and a .900 token.

Now, Imonex coin mechs (in general) can be both a blessing and a curse. Because they can be adjusted differently than older plastic and metal coin mechs. They were designed to jam less, and as an operator I can confirm this to be true from my years of experience.

But again, this applies mostly to the 3 most common coins used in the USA;

.900 tokens
.950 quarters
.984 tokens

Adjusting the three above common coin mechs to accept "more generously" is possible. But the opposite, getting .861 mechs to accept other tokens, is way harder, if not impossible.

You really are "making your life more difficult" by trying to mix and match here. You just need to pick one standard and stick with it. Then sell or trade the mechs and tokens of whichever type you purge with another member here.

Imonex mechs can turn into an "any coin" mechs by adding a piece of scotch tape to the inside reject runway (that normally captures too small coins). I'm baffled by how many people don't know this and go hunting/trading for different sizes imonex mechs.

Great idea for home use, risky idea for route use though, unless you can monitor players.

As mentioned it would be the ideal option for home arcades, but in this case we are setting up a mini arcade on location. I already have about 10,000 tokens and 50 mechs that work with each other, and it will be difficult to change these now for a different token size. Just trying to determine exactly what size token and mechs we have so we can expand the number if possible. My measurements are showing we may infact have .900 tokens, but the sticker on the coin mech I have in front of me is saying otherwise.

Can anybody confirm what the exact measurement for a .861 token is.

Yes, that token works 100% with the mech in the picture.

I only have one other of these mechs with me atm, but I just checked and the little sticker on that one says MOD. 860 900-25 on it.

The history behind the mechs is that I sourced the tokens first and then sent some samples to somebody else to match them to the mechs. This was unfortunately a while ago, and I've lost contact with this person to check, what size and if they modded any of the mechs to suite the token size. I also don't have another different .900 mech on hand to check if the tokens work on these as well.

i was going to say I could send you one to check but your're in Australia. egads! of course assuming i can find one. I sent a guy a whole box with about 25-30 of them a couple years ago and I had extras but havent seen them lately. Let me see if I can find any, have a few other types, maybe there's an imonex in the bunch

I guess you've probably put the word out locally to see if anyone has one?

Yes, Australia. I have put the feelers out locally but no response as yet. If no luck here I could pop a couple of my tokens in the post to you to test?

After checking the size of our tokens more closely I can confirm we have .860 tokens and mechs.

As mentioned we are too down far down the rabbit hole on these, so if anybody has any .860 mechs available please let me know. I'd be keen to buy about 50 of them if you have a stash somewhere.
