Do any of you fellows know where I can get a copy of a Donkey Kong strategy guide?

I remember using one as a kid.

It seems like it had a black cover with some decent artwork from the first stage of the game on the cover.

I think Billy may have used it with pretty good results.

I looked on Feebay but didn't see what I was looking for.

Thanks,
Rob

That's the one I had too...I remember three of the prizes being a lunchpail, telephone and birthday cake (what were they thinking? :D )

Heh. I was just looking at that last night with my daughter. I figure they didn't have permission from Nintendo or whomever to use real images from the games. Also, the prizes in their illustrations were HUGE compared to what they should be.

Still, the book has some nice descriptions of the patterns, for example.

LOL. Yeah it say's there are 4 prizes and they actually got the umbrella right. I always thought the hat was a dress myself until I played D2K and then everything fell into place.

Try local used book stores.

It is a shot in the dark, but I found the Steve Sanders DK book and the Ken Uston Pac book in a local used bookstore. I also found and out of print book on Kraftwerk - Kraftwerk: Man, Machine, Music. I was stoked.

I wasn't even particularly looking for anything. I dropped off a box of used books for them to evaluate what they would give me for them. I looked around while I was was waiting and found all three books. I told the guy I would trade him the whole box for the three books. He was happy to trade and I was happy with what I got.

Is there any worthwhile info in the Steve Sanders book? I can't find a pdf of the book anywhere and am curious about the contents of the book.

I read the Steve Sanders book and my high score is now over 3 million. The book told me to say that.

HA!!!!

It's got more detailed info in it than the other book but not all of it is 100% correct. You can definately tell they were playing the hell out of these games back in the day.

Isn't that the same book that Steve Weibe has in KoK? It's the scene where they are getting ready to head for Florida for that tournament.

Now all I need is a good Donkey Kong machine...anybody got one they don't need anymore?

ya, but you have to come to georgia to get it ....

I have made a trip to atlanta georgia for games before....it's only about six hours.

What worry's me is that a fellow named creepy kenny might tell me go down into his basement with him to get said machine.....and that might be the last time I see the light of day.

It was pretty creepy how you repeated what I posted.......most people just "quote" a previous post.

How much for your DK creepy?

Rob
