Ok so I'm looking on CL and this catches my attention here's the description:

FREE 80's Arcade_game cabinet
kq

80s, Arcade, Free, all things I like. So I figure its probably to late but I'll email anyway. I get this back:

"Im sorry for not replying sooner, I already promised this to someone else but she hasnt replied to me. Are you still interested?

I need to go to a thing for work tomorrow but then I will be home for the next few days. Let me know what works for you."

So yea I'm interested. I send an email back asking about the cab and if the other person decides to back out to let me know.... So then a few hours later....

"Hey,

Im so, so sorry.. the first person emailed me back, it seems her first message went to the spam box and I never saw it. I feel like an idiot..

You know, if you're interested, I've been making really good money with this home income program and theyve just opened up 2 more positions in our area. Basically you earn money by posting links on the internet, its really easy and you can just do it while watching TV.

Here is the link if you wanna read about it:

http://www.consum!#@$!%!#@$!

I've made about $700 each week since I started.. not enough to stop working yet but I finally have some spare money in my bank account lol. My sister is planning to sign up later and these positions usually go fast, so I'd really appreciate it if you dont share the link with anyone else.

Thanks alot and again, really sorry about the whole messup..

Jeanette"

Seriously? You put an ad on CL about 80s arcade game cabinets to spam some BS scam? Why not something that 90% of people would actually be searching craigslist for? Microwave, TV, fridge, washer dryer, car anything but 80s arcade cabinets right? lol Oh well at least I found a quick way to make 700 bucks so I don't have to rely on free ads to build my collection!!

It's not just on CL; I do tech support for a specialized software product that costs large companies 10-20K per year on contract to maintain support. For that you'd think there would be a certain level of propriety.

But we had this one guy who showed up at a user meeting on his company's dime and tried to sign everyone up for Amway's current business model - repeatedly and aggressively. And continued to do so on support calls with me for over a year afterward. It's my opinion that there is a certain mindset that gets people involved in those things - a sort of mental blinder to the futility of it that extends outward and destroys all manner of good taste and common sense they may have once had.

I had a similar thing on my local craigslist also.

They probably did put it up about Microwaves, TVs, and every other damn thing. I'll bet they used the standard email randomizer thing so that no one can easily find all their stupid ads and flag them all at once.

Scammers, oh how I hate them.

I'd have a word with his boss. That's just a pain in the ass and is taking time away from other customers. There's no good reason you should have to put up with that kind of annoyance.

Though if I were one of the people this guy was trying to sell to in a class that my company was paying for, I guarantee he'd regret coming back after the first 'bugger off'.

He was a long-time customer but he was a pariah after day one - you know, that guy who had to have lunch by himself because no one would sit at his table!:001_shappy:

I put him on hold every time he'd bring it up on a tech call. I didn't NOT work his issues, I just found something else to do for 5 minutes when he'd ask me if I was interested "in that thing we talked about."
