8-Liners (Wei-Ya) 19" Monitors Available

8liners.com (Atlas Amusement, Victor Genoa) have been around for many years. Many operators all over the country buy stuff from them.

I can't see them suddenly going out of business.

His phones certainly went out of business.

And with out pics it never happened. LOL

I have pics ......

MONITOR JUST ARRIVED! In a freakin' U-Haul box!

Ugg.... now time to photograph and document the opening of it...

Wish me luck.

Alright.... here is how I got the monitor I ordered from Atlas from UPS...

MONITOR1.jpg

Not so bad...thus far. I wish it was a double walled box but whatever...

Here is what I found when I opened it op...

MONITOR2.jpg

NICE! Double boxed... the inside box looks a little beat up, but it's apparent the monitor doesn't take up all the space inside it...

MONITOR3.jpg

Things are looking decent enough...so I open the inside box and this is what I find...

MONITOR4.jpg

More packing...good good...

So I remove the inside box packing and I find this...

MONITOR5.jpg

Something doesn't look right. The chassis is sitting about 90 degrees from the way it should... upon closer inspection it seems that...

MONITOR6.jpg

...yup...the freakin' chassis came loose from the frame! GOD DAMNIT... WTF? So I remove the monitor and find this...

MONITOR7.jpg

Those would be broken plasic pieces from the mounding board under the chassis... this monitor has been bounced around enough to break the friggin' chassis from the frame...

MONITOR8.jpg

This is a piece of the plastic mounting board under the chassis. From the LOOKS of it, all is OK...there is no apparent damage to the chassis, but one will never know until one actually plugs the thing in...which is what I will be doing in the next hour or so. Unfortunately I am not sure how I am going to mount the chassis now...I'll likely have to drill my own holes or something but I ain't gunna do that until I verify the damn thing works.

SO...I'd give Atlas a 6.5/10 for packing...i've seen worse...i've seen better...and UPS a 1/10 for bounding this monitor around bigtime....hey...at least the tube appears intact.

LETS HOPE!

Also... the tube sure looks BRAND NEW to me. If it were refurbished, what would the tell-tale signs be? The neck glass is crystal clear...the neck pins are brand new looking...the chrome pins inside the neck all look stunning..

Also, for power (it needs no ISO) there is a BLUE, a BROWN, and a green with yellow stripe.

Green/Yellow should be earth ground, right?

So then is Brown or Blue hot? Neutral?

I just found this:

European colors

  • The live conductor must be brown
  • The neutral is blue
  • The earth ('safety ground') must be green/yellow
I think that answers my question...

Oh, and I AM a little disappointed there is no remote controls board... it's all on the chassis... Freakin oldschool...

I have a long day tomorrow, but I'll also stay up to see what happens..ha.

Sheesh...with that kind of pressure I guess I better get my ass out the game room and test this bad boy...

:D

If they don't hook you up with a chassis mounting plate, pm me..I have an extra one from them, it's yours.

Welp, good news...

MONITORWORKING1.jpg

Needs a slight adjustment, but overall it looks good...

Not too bad for $160.00 shipped out the door. But man do I miss the Vision Pro deals....

...and I'll take you up on that Patch if Atlas' number remains disconnected next week.

Thanks!
