Hey folks, I just got off the phone with 8-Liners out of Florida and they've got 19" monitors for $110 for the version that needs and ISO and $120 for the version that doesn't need an ISO. They're also charging reasonable shipping... $40.00 out the door to me in Idaho. $160.00 out the door and I am getting a 19" monitor that doesn't need an ISO delivered.

Keep watch of this thread for more details/review when I receive the monitor.

Also... for our brothers in Florida...I talked to one of the asian fellows there and he says he has TWO Ms. Pac Man cabinets, both in good shape, for $200.00 out the door (non-working boardsets he says). It may be worth calling them to get the details down as the language barrier was a bit tough to work through...so please don't hold my hand to the fire on this deal as I was having difficulty understanding the fellow completely...he did say "It'll cost you more to ship than to buy"...so it may be worth it for a local to take a gander.

Victor Genoa seems like a decent enough guy (I called him a month ago) - but I've heard returns to him are extremely hard to accomplish. Please do report back with pictures showing the packing job and such.

But... Happs and Betson aren't making CRT monitors anymore! The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

:)

Happ and Betson don't make monitors..... They distribute them.

When your Wei-ya monitors show up, I want to know if they are the ones with remote adjustment boards or if they have all the adjustments on the main board like most monitors do. Be sure to ask for schematics and manuals.

Right - the main point I was parodying was that people here are freaking out just because they can't purchase from Happ or Betson anymore. There are still lots of other retailers to purchase CRTs from.

I have bought several and plan on buying a few more replacement chassis from Vic over the years and never had a dead one show, I buggered up a yoke impedance once , and he walked me through changing the impedance procedure. top notch service every time. the chassis actually produce a good picture too, good pricesas well

are these new monitors? they list new 19's on their site for $190

i emailed them can't seem to get them on the phone (tried twice just got a recorded message)

The arcade shop ones are new. the 8 liners ones are new chassis with used burn free crt's.

They are new...

...still waiting. I'm guessing I'll get it next week.

I have one and they are NEW monitors. The only problem I have had is some MVS games that have a flash or full screen color change tend to make the monitor "blink" briefly.

Tried it with Rival Schools and a 60 in 1 board as well and had no problems.

It did take 4 monitors to be mailed before I got one that the tube or neck wasn't shattered during shipping though...there is nothing like the feeling you get when UPS guy walks up to your door with a box of shattered glass. Talk about a smile turning upside down quick.

Ah...something to look forward to. I'll make sure to take pix of the entire unpacking process...
