Have my destroyer game out for repairs, may need a replacement lcd monitor or another B/W to replace the old, the original has fragment lines on the screen. All the fuse holders were crumbled apart so they will be bypassed. also may have to cut the old ac from 24v with new power supply to 5 and 12v to run cooler and may place a comp fan on cab.
The board is what may be sending bad signal to monitor for monitor to show the defects. am I wrong here ? If not then monitor may need replacement, if SO then the board need a multiple overhaul or, heart surgery, rewiring and soldering.

I have a strong desire to get game running right yet a battle in my head resumes about the money being an issue and drawing a line if game is worth it or not. anyone have insight for another b/w monitor for this game ? I don't feel stupid just yet--anyone say what you will.

What games have you ever had that were in Sorry shape, or worse than you thought and you Still demanded inside to make it right, to not let a games problems give you a feeling of defeat, I personally hate losing to inatimate objects, silly but true.

OK, first off please don't put a LCD in a black and white. Your monitor is most likely repairable, the fragment lines are usually a result of the game board, not the monitor.

Don't bypass the fuse holders, replace them. It is not uncommon for fuse holders of this age to be worn out.

I don't think heat will be a problem, rebuilding the original power supply along with replacing all of the connectors will reduce or eliminate any overheating problems. Installing a switcher is rarely necessary. Replacing the fuse holders helps with this as well.

That machine is very rare today. It should be preserved.

THANKS for the reply, I will call and let the shop know of your advice, I copied down.

Sick puppy is how I feel I guess but agreed this game should be preserved. all it takes is money but I'm not made of that.
