720 Ramp glitch (Gold medal grind)

This is a glitch that I haven't seen anyone mention before. The one seen in this video is bit funkier than what normally happens to me. Usually I do one grind back up the imaginary rail for a full meter gold medal, and then drop down into the pipe. Perhaps this could shed some light on the world record? After all, it is possible to get back on top of the ramp and grind again (by getting on top of the roof, and going back on top of ramp).

I wanted to give some HUGE, long overdue, props to Reddogg for pointing this out.

As you mention, I really do think you're onto something regarding the possibility of pushing the high-score by stringing these pre-start grinds together.

For years (once it was explained to me in detail by Matt (Mr. Peepers)), I did the lip trick just as you describe: One long backwards grind across the coping that would just barely net a gold, then dropping into the ramp quickly to avoid any late start penalty.

I had thought, and heard rumors, of multiple lip trick slides, but always assumed that perhaps someone was getting back up onto the deck after starting the ramp level (perhaps off the roof?) then recreating the initial slide.

After studying the video you posted I was able to recreate the double slide, and can now do it pretty consistently (maybe 50% of the time....). I find that the two slides alone net around 16K.

I've done quite a bit of experimenting, trying different angles and techniques to see if I could created the grind in different directions, perhaps for a longer grind, but have found that the second grind only seems to work when you point directly north, back toward the ramp deck. Once that grind is started you can not seem to change the direction of the skater no matter what is done with the joystick. He moves up/north until hitting the wall, at which point he appears to drop a few feet, then land on the deck of the ramp; however, his position is off relative to his board shadow, similar to the situation that creates the No Bees Glitch.

I've also been trying to create a third grind, and have been able to do it just a few times. The third grind is similar to the first, in terms of direction: Bounce off the wall and grind backwards, but I find that the skater seems to grind super fast, and for just a very short time, shooting off the side of the ramp.

I intend to experiment a bit more to see if I can get a consisted third, and perhaps multiple, slide incorporated.

Thanks a lot for pointing this out.

SKATE OR DIE!!!

What about the glitch where you can get your guy on the opposite side of the chain-link fence ? Is that known? I remember guys doing that in the arcade back in the day.

For sure, that one is definitely legit; although I don't have a video of it. It's an interesting trick, but honestly it doesn't really benefit you at all, since the bees can still get to you outside of the fence, and there was no extra scoring mechanism that I'm aware of.

Still cool looking for glitches in these games.
