So I was the high bidder I cehck my email today and I get a message about my bid being cancelled. Shocked as to why my bid might be cancelled I cehck and the auciton is gone.

I assume someone emailed and offerred a serious money offer, or local.

Frustrated as hell as this is the first 720 I have seen for sale in at least 6 months, and bam gone without a word.

Wondering if the seller is a member here and if so what gives with the cancellation?

Happened to a bunch of us on a Daytona USA set that was up there. Dood cancelled all bids, and suddenly the auction ended with a Buy It Now slightly higher than all of the bids.

Stupid unfair/greedy sellers. Auction MEANS AUCTION.

Got a reply he said he sold it locally. Wishes he wouldn't have given the response since the auction ended.

I think he lost out on a lot of money...

I never understood ending an auction early because of a local buyer. Great, you're a local buyer. Bid on it and when you win, bring cash... If you listed it on Craig's List before the auction, put a reserve on it for what you were wanting on Craig's List, then you can sell locally if that price isn't met after the auction ends.

The 720 was on my radar too. I was ready to snipe a huge bid at the end. The guy selling it definitely lost money ending the bidding early. Oh well!

The same thing happened on a Marble Madness that sold here locally on Ebay a while back. They pulled the auction before it was done. Same situation. I would have payed top dollar for it.

This will happen with all of these games, every time. Sellers want money, and we all take it personally when they do this. But i think we have good reason for being annoyed.

Ebay just becomes a place of advertisement. You throw it up to get everybody's attention, waste everybody's time and then you end the auction with some bologna excuse. Ebay becomes a tool for leverage and exposure, especially with arcade game machines.

And yes, 720 never seems to come up. I think it is time to take a vacation from my searching Ebay and craigslist. Time to focus on my own machines. It is time better spent anyway...

I was watching this also, What a heart breaker - So did the person "smiling" get it? This is one of the more difficult games that I have been trying to find - I found Qbert, Qix and Moon Patrol 3 on my want list over the last couple months - There are only a few left right now on it 720 is probably the one I want most and think I will eventually find one. Heck anythings possible - I got and I,Robot the other day. Well I hope the person that got it actually plays it - I was in a pole Barn the other day with a couple hundred games in it and the guy does not play them, nor does he power them up - He had Major Havoc, Mad Planets, Bubbles Duramold-I really want a Duramold-, and many other games that are on my list of Dreams. Well anyway enjoy it whoever got it.
