I've had a 720 for about 4 years. The monitor always sucked on it and eventually the whole game totally died and sat dead for over a year and a half. As we started gearing up planning for this year's Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show, people were bugging me to get my 720 running for the show. It had a lot of problems... really weak monitor, fried board connections and wire harness, dead power supply, no joystick action at all. After months of work, tonight it finally is fully working and I'm fucking stoked! Special thanks goes out to the vid community, because y'all rock! Specifically I want to give praise to everyone that helped me along the way:
-Ron Shutter for trying to help me save the original monitor
-Rob Jarret for the monitor that's now in the game and working great
-Barry Shilmover for working a trade deal that included ordering the joystick parts from RAM Controls
-Dave at RAM Controls for building an out of stock repro Atari coupler board because I really needed it
-Bill Hughes at USA Amusements for the NOS Atari coupler board in case the RAM Controls one didn't happen
-Francis at Ataricade for the LETA chip
-Patty Okert for hotdogs, sandwiches, putting up with me coming over multiple times with my game, and encouraging me to have it running because her tattoo artist is coming to the NW Pinball & Gameroom Show specifically to play this game
-Dave Okert for pretty much everything else: teaching me how to rewire the burnt harness connectors and replacing the burnt board pins, building me a custom video harness (!!!), supplying me with various parts, and finally helping my adjust the monitor sync when I was at a loss.
Seriously, I really appreciate all the help. And I hope to see a bunch of you playing my 720 at the NW Pinball & Gameroom Show in two weeks. This year's show is going to blow everyone away! --dan
