I ended up with a "Foundation 8oz" from the same vendor as linked above (Discount Tommy). It works great. I highly recommend you go with an 8oz kettle. 4oz kettles suck... my first 4 oz kettle machine kicked out over 40% of the kernals unpopped. I traded it in for the 8oz kettle machine and use 4 oz of popcorn and it works great with MAYBE 10% of the kernals going unpopped. I have to give the guys at Discount Tommy props for taking care of me though...

Just saw this thread. I also bought a popper from this seller (I got the red "Pasadena Popper").

I love it. It's not perfect, but the quality is really quite good considering the price. Makes excellent popcorn. The only real problem is I'm going to have to start buying those 50lb bags of popcorn so I don't run out all the time. :D

If I was buying one for a high-volume venue, I'd probably go with a Paragon. They make top-quality commercial units. (And they're made in the Midwest.) But for a family that eats a lot of popcorn, I don't think you can beat the value of the "Great Northern" poppers.

I got some Popcorn "salt" with "butter flavor" from paragon in the mail yesterday. Just a half teaspoon of the stuff and MAN o MAN does the popcorn taste good...

I also bought mine from the same seller. I like mine very much. It is the 4oz. It is in very good shape, has the cart too, it is red. I want to sell it for a bigger one. Local pick up around the Los Angeles ca. $100.00 Send me a PM if you want it.

I wanted to also tell you about, I stopped by Smart and Finel. I found a very good pop corn butter flavor salt there, you should get it. Its called Flavacol. Made by Gold Medal, it is 2lbs. 3 oz. (35 oz) It was only around $1.50. You only use very little of the stuff. In the store that I want to, there popcorn stuff is in 2 diferant parts of the store, so look around for it. Here is the item, check out the other stuff on this web sight too. Put this on after it is popped. A little goes a long ways.

For a diferent type of popcorn.
If you like the kettle corn, type, you put this in with the oil. That simple. I use this to make mine, http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/pro...ogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=shopping
I use 1/3 cup popcorn, 1 table spoon of oil, 1 table spoon surger. Put it all in the pot and start poping.
I want to get try these out.
