I freely admit I am completely out of my element here fixing this thing. I have the Bob Roberts kit and the monitor already has the upgraded LV2000.

I bought the game about 2 weeks ago and left it on one night. Next morning I had no picture and one of the 3A fuses was blown. Replaced the fuse and still not picture and SPOT light was glowing.

I've replaced the chassis transistors and now have a picture with all 3 colors. Just don't know where to go from here. Spot is off by the way.

Did you check the fuses on the power brick? This looks likes it might be a board issue. See anything in switch test? Can you hear the game playing?

Before replacing the transistors everything ran fine just didn't have anything on the screen. I haven't tried to put it in test mode yet for fear of causing more damage to the monitor.

I'll clean the power brick in the morning. I can't even tell if the fuses are good because they are caked in dust.

Are you shure you got the 3792s and 3716s in the correct spots? I imagine that could cause all kinds of wierdness...

Andrew

I made sure and only did one at a time. Checked the number with the one I was putting in. I'm going to go over it again this morning but I did find someone local that can service the machines.

I'll let you know what we find out.

Matt:

Get your multimeter and see if there is continuity on the power brick for all the fuses. Chances are if one of the deflection transistors blew, you might have blown a fuse on the power brick. You might also test the voltages on the game board to make sure they are all good. Look for the GND lug and the voltage test points. They are DC voltages. The red LED on the game board should be lit if you have a good 5 volts as well. If the voltages are bad, then the board has bad power regulators or the ARII board is bad, or the brick is bad.

Ok powered it up a little while ago and have the same screen.

SPOT is off. Red LED on Game board is on. I can select player and level and it plays just fine and jumps to the next screen...problem is I have all the lines everywhere.

Would this lead me away from the PCB??? What should I check next. I will check the continuity across the fuses..looking at them they seem fine...but that doesn't mean they are.

Okay, I'm a little confused here. Do you have a normal screen with the white lightning bolts overlayed onto it? I can't tell from your photo if you are getting a normal game or not but your post seems to imply you are. If that is the case, you might have an issue with your interconnect cable. You might want to pull your main game board, pull and reseat the interconnect on both sides and try again. If that doesn't fix it, pull the board and resolder all the pins to both boards where the interconnect hooks up. Retry. BE SURE TO CONNECT THE WIRING HARNESS CORRECTLY. You might want to make the connectors with some masking tape so you don't hook them up incorrectly.

Based on what I read in your last post, we might be chasing the wrong beast. If you have a picture, do the above first.
