It's been a long time since I've dived into a 6100. But need to get a bunch going.

Anyway, I've got one that looks good, but HV is only about 12kv and the retrace lines are always showing, no matter how I adjust brightness or the guns. What should I check?

Thanks,
John

Fix the HV

If the HV is low, then there may not be enough voltage to keep the electrons from fleeing to the phosphor.

I'd get the HV back up... it seems the likely problem.

Thanks for the help guys. I will work on the HV. I think first I need to buy a new HV probe. I dropped mine and now I don't trust it. I've tested 4 working 6100s today and ALL registered around 11kv, so I'm thinking maybe my probe is messed up.

Where's the best place to buy one? and what is the best one to buy? Any recommendations?

Thanks,
John

We can save time if you tell me your B+. It is usually tied to the HV, so if it is low, we can work on fixing the HV section (if necessary) to get it back to where it needs to be, which will usually put the HV where it needs to be also...
