Hi;
I now have 2 WG19K6100 monitors that I have rebuilt using the replacement HV units are are having problems with the HV. I set the HV according to specs. 19.5kV @ 0 beam and eventually the HV trip shuts down the HV. Most of the time, the game stays on but when I shut it down and then restart, then the HV LED is lit and I have to back it off to about 18.25kV in order for the game to come on.
I have rebuilt many many 6100's and only have had this problem when the HVT has been replaced and that is why I suspect the units.

Has anyone else had issues with the replacements HVTs or has had the same problem with the voltage "creep"?

Thanks
Jeff

I have not seen this, but have you adjusted the trip point on the HV? Pretty sure the ones that trip are also adjustable for what voltage trips them. Seems like I read you are supposed to adjust the cutoff or whatever they call it when you adjust the HV. The last manual explains the process if you have not done that.

Edit: HV Trip page 9

Hey;
Sorry, I had failed to mention that I did set the shutdown voltage.
In fact, I had it set at 22.75kV just to see what happens and it still shuts down.
If I set the zero beam around 18.75, it seems to work although the voltage creeps up tp 19.48kV during game play after a while.
It seems that the HV will not lock in and creeps up....
Thanks for the suggestion though....

I run the monitor for 15+ minutes befor setting thr HV. I have seen the voltage creep and fluctuate about 300v with the replacement HVT. I set the trip at 23K and don't have any issues with shutdown.

Mark;
You are right about the creep, I get almost 500v after it warms up!

I ran it for about 30 min, set the zero beam for 19.5kV and set the trip for 23kV and all is fine.

I guess I was expecting factory specs but that is obviously not going to happen with the replacements.

Thanks
Jeff

Glad this was figured out. I have a couple spares that I have not had to use yet. Great job guys! :D
