The BR kit for the 6100 comes with two 2.2 ohm 5w resistors. The P329 rev HV cage I'm working on has 3.9ohm 3w resistors. It looks like these changed from the P315/6 revs to P329. If there anything else I would need to replace or change if I swap these two resistors with the 2.2 ohm ones in Bob's kit?

3.9 is correct for that version of board. The 6100 faq recommends upgrading those 2 resistors to 3.9 ohm, which is what I do. I would see if you can pick them up locally. As a matter of fact, I just got some more yesterday for the 6100s I am working on.

I just did the Bob Roberts "deluxe" kit and it included the 3.9 ohm resistors. Reading the "zanen" instructions it appears that you should replace/upgrade all of the following resistors to bring the HV pcb up to the latest revision:

R901 - 2.2 ohm 2 watt - upgrade to 3.9 ohm @ 3 watt
R907 - 2.2 ohm 2 watt - upgrade to 3.9 ohm @ 3 watt
R903 - 3.9 ohm 1/2 watt - not an upgrade, but replace anyway
R910 - 12k ohm - upgrade to 6.8k ohm 1/4 watt
R911 - 6.8k ohm - upgrade to 4.7k ohm 1/4 watt
R926 - 2.2 ohm 2 watt - upgrade to 2.2 ohm 3 watt

These all came in the deluxe kit. I installed all of them and it works great. I did have to adjust the HV pot to get 180 volts after the installation.

BTW Bob actually provides 5 watt resisitors instead of 3 watt.

I bought the basic kit, too. The 2.2 ohm resistors were unnecessary, and all of the basic kit parts for the deflection board were unnecessary because I had installed an LV2000. So yeah, the basic kit is mostly not worth buying. There are a couple of parts I used, like the 150v diode, but you might consider buying the deluxe kit and then just buying the extra parts you will actually use rom the basic kit separately.

I use one of the 2.2 ohm resistors to replace the usually failing pink one up near the little transformer in the HV cage. Don't remember the resistor number off hand.

Yeah that's R926. A 2.2 ohm 5 watt resistor comes in the deluxe kit for that, too. If you buy the basic kit plus the deluxe kit, then you end up with three of those resistors but only use one.

Sourced 3.9Ω 5w resistors from Mouser, replaced R901/7, got HV. Fuzzy green image and no lower vertical deflection. Swapped Q605/6, adjusted the rest out and was off to the races…

Guess you have to be careful about the non-deluxe kit if you already have the newer board rev, as some parts are incorrect.
