6100 jitters in Star Wars is normal? that's what someone told me
I have a Star Wars with a wg6100. The display jitters/blinks very rapidly, and the blinking sync's with a whirring sound coming from the hv cage. It's like a 10 second cycle. Whirring/blinking for a while, then the whirring stops/gets quiet, display is rock-solid. Back and forth. Everything else looks great.
After a cap kit and a lv2000 install, there's no change. Also replaced all the transistor sockets on the frame, re-flowed header pins, etc, all the usual stuff.
Someone told me that this is pretty common for 6100's in Star Wars, because they were really meant to run on an Amplifone, the 6100 can't handle the signal that the SW is putting out, 6100 on Star Wars resolution not as good as an Amp, etc, etc.
Has anyone else heard this, can confirm or debunk?
EDIT: I should mention that the monitor was hooked up and was rock solid in a Space Duel cab over the weekend.
