I was able to get my first 6100 complete rebuild (HV, deflection & neck boards) working beautifully but have 2 minor issues I'm hoping someone can advise me on..

Dead center there is a blue dot of varying intensity. Sometimes it's pretty bright, others not at all.

Just to the left of that is what I can best describe as a green smear. It shows up much better in the photo than the video...

I thought maybe brightness is too high, but only on the blue gun??

I'm worried about burning those center phosphors...

Yes, what komodo said. Blue gun just needs to be dialed back a bit. The screen with the color bars lets you see and adjust the intensities of the colors fairly precisely, so they are all roughly the same.

You want to look closely at the brightness of the thinnest/lightest bars for each color, and get them to match, as the thin bars are the most sensitive, and are where you can see the differences the most.

There is a little more detail in the 6100 user manual about adjusting the color pots, but not much. You'll figure it out once you start playing with them on the colorbar test screen though.

Thanks guys; I think I have it adjusted pretty well now. Perhaps a smidge too big as the corners get clipped. Wanted to maximize that screen space!

I double checked that the degauss coil is plugged in on the deflection board and I have power cycled (turned on & played for 20-30 min then powered off) the thing each morning and each night for about 5 days now with no improvement to the corner discoloration. (pics attached)

Do I need to buy an external degauss coil like this??

Yes, A wand or coil is good piece of kit

Bottom left needs a tweak

I suggest reducing size so there is no clipping as well, even though you said you like it big

Also, make sure the yoke hasn't come loose, moved around, or any of the rubber wedges have fallen out (which will make it loose as well).

If all of the wedges are there, loosen the yoke, and make sure it is slid is snug against them, as if it has crept back (or was never fit to that tube to begin with, e.g., if it came from another tube), that will cause discoloration.
