I just rebuilt my WG 6100 and cannot get the pic to focus. I did a cap kit, the extra parts kits, and verified and resoldered the focus wire. Also, I cant get the B+ quite to 180v. It maxes out at 176 or so. Im not sure if its related to that or not. The fly appeared to be working correctly in a different 6100. I can get plenty of brightness, just cant get it focused. Seems like with the Sceen control way down, that I can almost focus it.. Im leaning towards a bad tube.. Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks,
Andrew

Are all three colors equally non-focused, or is it more pronounced on one? I've got one with a weak tube, and green gets fuzzy. I was able to adjust the individual color cutoffs to prevent overdriving that weak gun, and the picture looks OK, but in my case, it's clearly the tube that is at fault. Try turning down the cutoff and drive controls on the neckboard a bit and see if you can get the colors focused.

The low B+ is odd - you should be able to dial it right in exactly. Did you replace any of the zeners in that circuit?

All colors seem pretty fuzzy. I did not replace any Zeners. I did replace an MPS A06 and the 25k HV adjustment pot.. All resistors check out ok, all the diodes check ok..Testing has been done in circuit, so Im not 100% sure, but everything was close. I cant even really get it all that close with the focus pot.

on the 6100 I had the red and white wires going from the flyback to the neck board, the connector on them went bad and i just cut it off and use wire connectors to connect the wires and that fixed my low B+ problem also you can buy a replacement flyback from http://www.arcadecup.com

I tried a tube off of another vector mon, and the focus is much, much better, so I guess the tube is shot.. Now..to find a 100 degree tube..
