I would think a repro Pinbot playfield is a pretty safe investment whether you end up using it or not. New ones usually only go up in value once stock is depleted.

WHAT THE F.... So she sold a Mortal Kombat 2 in dedicated cab, a Kangaroo in dedicated cab, a modern pachinko machine with LCD display, and a Pinbot that could just be a blown fuse with good playfield for 700$? After telling me she was holding the pachinko and Kangaroo at least for me?

You do know that a repro Pinbot playfield from CPR runs $650 right? I think it would be cheaper and better for you to find a nice working example in good shape for $850-$1200

Not really concerned with the price. Ultimately longevity is king for me. I can spend 1200 on one with a good playfield but then have to go clearcoat it myself or 600$ and 650 for the repro and colors are bright clear is done.....same money, less work, looks better longer probably.

At any rate. Its not a decision that i can even make now. Fuck.

The theoretical $1,250 was best case scenario of a fuse being the only thing wrong with it. I would have probably tacked on the cost of repairing or replacing the MPU as well as some of the displays. As far as the playfield goes, if you find a PinBot with a great looking playfiled chances are it would be fully Mylared, you wouldn't have to clear coat it in that scenario. Look around, you might be surpised about what you find.

I really wanted that pachinko machine. That almost pisses me off more than the Pinbot. This is the second shot I've had at one with a LCD screen for 50$ or less in two weeks and been shot down. At least they're coming up pretty frequently. I'm not paying 300$ for one from ebay. :|
