Hi Guys,

I just got my Ms. Pacman up and running and I'm getting alittle bored with the 96-1 I have in there now. Don't get me wrong the 96-1 is a great kit but I'd like alittle more vairity. I know the 60 n 1's might not get a good wrap around here but we have parties alot for family in our basement and everyone is bored with pacman and I don't have space to add many more cabinets then what I have. So first and foremost I'm NOT willing to cut up my Ms. Pacman cabinet/control panel, therefore I want a kit that will allow me to use the P1 start and P2 Start as fire buttons. I'm not interested in utilizing the track ball games on the kits. I'm really just trying to get a grasp on past experiences with these kits, which ones are reputable, etc.

I have found two so far:

http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/en/multiboards/524-60-in-1-icade-board.html

&

http://www.jammaboards.com/store/pacman-ms-pacman-upright-cabinet-60-in-1-upgrade-complete-kit.html

I'm not sure if all of these kits are the same, but I want to be able to save high scores and not have to do anything to my control panel just like this guy did:

The jammaboards link is what I have in my pac, no changes to the CP. It saves HS, but only the top one.

Why is the jammaboards.com version twice as expensive as the other guys? It's the same board, right?

was thinking the same thing myself but I believe it is because it comes with the power supply and aux board that allows you to use the P1 & P2 start buttons....

You'll need the jammaboards kit if your wiring is original. You can't just plug and play a 60-1 unless your machine is already wired for JAMMA, or unless you already have some sort of mod done. I use a Lizard Lick adapter in mine, which works flawlessly, but LL is out of business so you'd have to pick one up used.

yeah, I used the Lizard Lick adapter in mine like I showed in my video. That adapter is great since you don't need to use a separate power supply. So, if you get one of the other jamma adapters out there you'll need to wire in a power to the adapter. Looks like that jamma board kit includes it. That doesn't seem like a bad deal for the power supply, adapter, and board.

BTW - I eventually got pretty annoyed with using the P1 and P2 buttons for the fire buttons so I went out and bought a repro control panel that has the extra button holes and that has worked out great. You might wanna do that too and save your original control panel.

This is the one I have on mine now:

Good timing because I ordered the JB complete UR kit as well. I'm hoping it gets here soon as I did hear people bitch about the long shipping time frame. I'm a state away and ordered last Monday.

I'll report back when I get it and how it works. I'm using the whole kit as I haven't rewired a game for Jamma and would prefer not to butcher up a nice Ms Pac.

blkdog7: I'm considering going this route myself and unsure if I should spring for the trackball complete assembly. With you doing the pieces and non track ball version CP, do you regret it?

You guys have to check these CP's out for Pac Multi's....

I don't miss the trackball. But, I own a centipede. :)

I prefer it the way I have it with the two buttons and the joystick. I eventually got bored with the 60 in 1 and now have it plugged into a MAME computer. It rocks. Great cab to have. I primarily play Ms. Pac on the cab so I like the joystick in the center the way it was intended.

Thanks everyone and sorry for hijacking your thread RedWarrior 80 but thought the questions would assist you too.

The only issue I have with the multi CP's like you have Phet that I was going to go with is they don't go near as well with Ms. then Mr. I'm going to see how long I can go with the P1/P2 buttons and standard 4 way before upgrading. But heavily leaning to the nice trackball one if I do.

You just need to get the right CPO. This blue multi nonsensical CPO that Arcadeshop sells is a horseshit abomination.

Q*bert? Really? What cheap Chinese X in 1 multiboard features that?

No worries at all.....all was good stuff and now it has got me really thinking....I just don't know if I have the electrical know how to wire up a different CP with a trackball.

LMAO, yeah I thought the same thing about it. So you had yours made? I'd love one just like yours but geared to the MS Pac man.

I have a cocktail cabinet with the same delimma, would like to have a 60 in 1 or arcadeSD easily swappable without messing much with the internal wiring. Does anyone still sell converter boards with built in power switching still? What about a DIY solution that doesn't involve installing an additional power supply?
