Hello all!! Just acquired a Mr. Do! cab and I was wondering if I could put a 60 in 1 in it?? I always see Pacman or Ms. Pacman loaded with 60in1 so I'm curious.

If the 60in1 can be easily added to said cab, what do should I do about the stick? Different games have different standards, 4 way, 8way.

Help!!!

And thanks

Post pics of the Mr Do! cabinet

60 - 1 is the only way to go if you want to properly restore a game

Everybody is looking at this all wrong.

The real question is....why isn't the OP turning the Mr. DO! into a Ms. Pacman?

;)

All seriousness aside....OP, this thread may get nasty....but I hope at some point electricdreamz gets in here and posts an amazing meme....subbed for that reason only.

Knowing the history of Mr. Do THAT may be a restoration...

Lots of Mr Do boards out there. Why use 60 in 1?

That said, convert to Jamma and yes a 60 in 1 will work.

has a 4 way stick so most of the best games will work.

Yes, we need pictures.

If the game is in an original Universal cabinet, it definitely needs to stay a Mr. Do! as they are relatively rare. If an original cabinet but the game is gutted or otherwise incomplete, find the parts to make it complete and get it working again.

If you want a 60 in 1, no problem with that. Just don't start with a vintage classic game.

You wouldn't put a Toyota engine in a '67 Camaro and give it a rainbow paint job (unless you're Wyo).

Get a Mr. Do to JAMMA adapter and run a 60 in 1 set to the best dozen of so games. If you want, you can set the boart do only Mr. Do and no one would even know it's got a crappy multiboard in it.

First of all, welcome to KLOV. Lots of great information here about the hobby.

This community does lean heavily toward restoration and preservation of the classics, so your question is a bit like walking into a bar in Boston at this very moment and yelling "EAGLES!"

Don't be discouraged though, posts some pictures of the cabinet and you will get help from folks here to move you in the right direction.

This great advice and yes pics or it didn't happen.

Of course I plan on restoring to perfection but I would like to be able to play more games. That I love

Looks a little beat but has the nice bezel.

I have a 60 in 1 and it gets quite a bit of play.

And mr do is on the 60 in 1 so I say go for it. will need jamma harness and connector for the control panel.

I am sure there are a couple of threads on how best to convert.

I'd keep it original and just add a jamma switcher for the 60n1 games. I have this in my Ms Pac cab right now.

The 60n1 are ok but the mame emulation is crap on most of the games.

The original PCB will play much better for Mr Do anyways

That looks like it was originally a Lady Bug (which is a really fun game), not a Mr Do. But it looks like it's going to take a lot of work to get it back to its original look no matter what game it was.

That's an uncommon enough cabinet that I think the advice you're going to get here is to either do it right and restore it back to a Lady Bug, or pass the cabinet on to somebody who will. I'm sure somebody out there can trade you for something like a dynamo cab, which is both better-suited for use with a 60-in-1 and is so common that nobody's going to question whether a multi game is the wrong way to go with it.

But to answer your question, most games on the 60-in-1 use a 4-way joystick and a single button. Lady Bug (and Mr Do) used a 4-way joystick. Lady Bug didn't have a button but it looks like somebody already drilled that control panel to add one, which is unfortunate from a restoration standpoint but it does open it up to play a lot more games. So you could put a 60-in-1 in there and probably enjoy maybe 40ish of the games without doing any further irreversible damage to that cabinet.
