I finally got this finished and low and behold, the trackball is not functioning. I have double checked all wiring, and am geting a strong +5v to both optic boards. I have tried connecting to the solder side as directed and to both pin connectors on the board, as well as changing the settings appropriately. Nothing has worked. I have attached a pic of the test screen, and all of the I/O checks stay red all the time. Is there a setting I am not aware of, or is there something else I am missing? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure your trackball is compatible? If you're getting constant 'ON' with your directions, then your trackball boards may be bad or incompatible....

The I/O page stays the same even when the trackball is unpluged from the main board, and yes, the board is trackball compatable. I would think that it would not show up as closed if it was not attached to the board.

whats your settings
i have never seen that on the screen before, maybe thats why i can't get my trackball to work through the plug on the board
all i get is the top half no trackball settings
and i have had a bunch of 60's

i have that screen but it is always black where the trackball xy stuff is

I thought you had to have the 'cabinet' switch set to 'upright/1 control' for the trackball to work.

Well, yeah, if you connect the trackball to CON4 on the 60-in-1, and have it set to Upright/ 1 control, then your trackball won't work. it needs to be on CON3 for 1-control, and CON4 for the player 2 trackball or cocktail trackballs.

If you have it set for upright/2 controls and have it set on con 3, it should still work, though on CON3, but CON4 would also work (but only for player 2)...
