I finally installed the 60 in 1 that I bought last year from paradise arcade. When I first installed it, everything was fine. Now when I turn it on, there is no sound. Vol pot doesn't work, volume setting in test mode doesn't work, different speaker doesn't work and there is 12v present. Are the amps on these known for dying this quick? Is it fixable?

What is your reading on your +5? I have heard if its over 5.1 that it can damage those boards. Have you thrown another jamma board in there to make sure everything is ok?

What cab did you throw it in? What was in it before?

Did you check the speaker wiring?

Are you hooked to the speakers through the Jamma harness or the "headphone jack"? When I got mine I couldn't ever get the Jamma output to work. I grabbed an oldest of amplified computer speakers and hooked them through the headphone jack, and installed them behind the speaker grill of the cabinet.

Problem solved.

Brand new Jamma harness, speaker outputs to original Pacman speaker. Yeah the connection is fine. Don't think I'll be adding computer speakers to this restenciled PAC cab.

There is a small IC that can fry if the wrong voltage hits that +12 line. I've seen it in Pac's when someone didn't realize that the Pac power supplies have AC voltage instead of DC. If the board is fairly new, Excellent will usually replace it for free even if you fried it from dumbassedness (not saying you did) - if you bought it from them. If not, check with your supplier and see if you can get an exchange...

EDIT - oh, and hook up some computer speakers to that jack to see if you have sound that way or not...

I'm using a brand new 15 Amp switcher as well. I'll have to check with Bryan at Paradise to see if I can exchange this one.

Yep, looks like the board is fried. I happened to have an extra 48 in 1 sitting here (remember those?) and the sound worked fine when I plugged it into the edge connector. Anybody know how to get a hold of Bryan with Paradise Arcade? (Other than PM and his main email, which I've already tried).
