Lately I've been drooling over the idea of buying a 60 in 1 multi-game PCB to upgrade a cab for my living room, what have people's experiences been with them? The one big complaint I've heard is that the sound for some of the games is rather poor and that they don't save high scores with the power off, but at least the later seems to have been addressed in the latest release, I'm hoping the sounds have improved too.

And if I decide to finally buy one of these boards, what would be the cheapest and more reliable vendor to buy from? I hear there are a lot of knock-off boards that are total crap, so I want to make sure I buy from a credible source that will back up their product.

for a guy that can't ahve a ton of cabs. Or anyone that wants a ton of games in one vertical cab, these are sweet.

I have built 10 or so, and I always take my time delivering them, so I can play them longer, lol.

I buy from avidcollect on here, more people buy from NIXS. I am confident in saying that either would be a fine guy to deal with.

I've been playing my 60-in-1 all night. It's a good board, and I bought mine from Nixs on here. The sound is loud and overdriven on a few of the games (like 1943), but I keep my volume down, so it isn't that big of a deal. Most of the games though are really great and emulated perfectly.

It will save your top high score on each game, but not your initials.

I'm sure the resale value will hold on these for the most part in the short term, so if you don't like it, you can probably resell it for just a little less than when you bought it.

By the way, I bought the "b-revision" $90 board. I've had it for several months without problems.

I've been thinking of on top of the 60 in 1 adding a multi-jamma switch (feedback also wecome) so I can put another five verticle jammas in the same cab, including my Alpine Ski , Battlelane 5 and Looping PCBs. I'm going to milk that freak'n cab for all it's worth! :D

The one consistant complaint I hear about these boards is sound distortion on certain games, of the kind one gets when they try to amplify a signal too much and/or push it through an inadequate speaker. Does anyone know if this problem can be minimized by say adding a capacitor or some other additional components? I'd hate to be the first one to try it, but I'm wondering if someone were to tap into the audio before it reaches the onboard amp they could use a better amplifier externally, perhaps one that could be adjusted for the problem games?

Probably wishful thinking on my part, but I'm a purist when it comes to my video games.

Get it from Nixs. He is great to deal with and has great prices.

The only way you can get around the sound distortion issue (which is pretty bad for a handful of games) is to get an arcadeshop.com board but those will run you close to $400 and have less games. If money isn't a concern, that board is great.

How do I contact him?

Yeah the Arcadeshop boards look awesome, and had damn well better for $370+. Someday perhaps, on top of everything else it supports some cool games none of the others do, but that's serious $ I can't spend right now.

Also as an aside, do you know if anybody is still selling the multi-game DECO cassette adaptors?

If you have no room for any arcade machines. I did it. It seemed like the best option at the time for me. But now i kind of regret messing up the game. The pacman machine didnt play pacman although. The new boardi put in has some sort of timing error from the monitor to the board and the screen will randomly go green.

Our 60in1 are great and have not complaints on sound send me 100 bucks and I will ship you one.

Alpine Ski isn't JAMMA... nor is Looping... nor is Battle Lane. Are you planning on buying converters for each PLUS the multi JAMMA setup? Seems like a VERY expensive proposal.

You do know that space heater is using more electric than having basement vents open :)

Kevin

She only uses the space heater when she plays that game. Otherwise its about 55 degrees or so down there.

Anyway I was referring to the 48-1 video's I made, I adress all the sound issues, setup and so on.

Keep in mind that if you go with the AS board, it dosent include the games, you have to provide your own rom images. You also have to buy a seperate cable to do so. Probably a nice board, but wayyyyyyyyyyy to pricey if you ask me.

I'm going to make my own JAMMA adaptors, it's not tough as I'm going to use jammaboards.com finger boards, and they're only a couple of bucks apiece. This is my long term plan, I'm not going to do this all at once, hell in the very long term this fantasy cab would ideally have a 60-in-1, Alpine Ski, Looping, Battlelane 5, multi-game DECO cassette (if they can still be gotten), and the arcadeshop PCB.
Pricey? Very, but not all that much if put together over a few years, and no more senseless than money spent on any other hobby like classic cars, etc.

P.S.
I LOVE your avatar Teckkev!
