I was wondering on the 60 in 1 boards is the easy setting on pac man the original difficulty level or is the hard as there is no such setting on a real pac man? I am going back an forth with my dad and I want to make sure I am not cheating lol.
the "easy" setting is the standard setting on Pac/Ms. Pac. When playing easy, you are slightly faster than the ghosts so that you can pull away if they get right on your tail on a straight section. When playing hard, they are slightly faster than you and will catch you on a straight section if close enough.
As for the actual game pcbs, Pac/Ms Pac do have a way to make it "hard", but it entails adding a jumper across a couple pads. It was not common to find this in the wild...
BTW - the speed may be what your dad is referring to. Original Pac/Ms Pac boards were the "slow" setting. Speed-up chips were later released to make it "fast", and you could find both in the wild BITD. Your dad may remember the slow only version, while you remember the fast-only version...
