Hey Guys,
I'm trying to wire up a 60 in 1 I-cade in an old cabinet and am running a midway 20th anniversary control panel. The one with Ms. Pacman start buttons on the left and Galaga start buttons on the right. I just want them to act as the standard start button rather than actually start each individual game.
-Thanks

Just link a wire between the 2 buttons along with a ground.
Obviously, ensure P1 from jamma harness is connected to one of them.

Do the same for p2 buttons.

Pretty sure 17 on parts side is P1 start and 17 on solder side is P2 start. Those should be wired to Ms. Pacman. So you can just disconnect the start buttons on Galaga and then run a jumper wire from the Ms. Pac ones to the Galaga ones. That way they will operate the same way. Verify this by checking which start buttons work with your 60-in-1.

Must press 1P on both sides

Attached them with a jumper, apparently now I have to press both sides 1p to get them to go... hmm.

You don't have them wired correctly then. Are these leaf switches or micro switches?

Wire it like this:

its also a Jamma harness, I have the grounds daisy chained through the other controls on a single line. Should I isolate their grounds?

The micro switches normally have 3 terminals (connection points.)

One terminal is common (ground), one is open and one is closed. Meaning that with the ground wire hooked up to the common connector, pushing the button will either complete the circuit or break the circuit depending on which terminal you hook the second wire to.

Since the JAMMA connection is sending a signal thru the wires, I would use a multi-meter to test which terminal on the switch completes the circuit when the button is pushed and make sure that your wire is going to that same terminal on each switch.

No, you don't have to isolate your grounds.

Got it

Thanks Guys,
Got it cracking. Grabbed the multi-meter and was running the jumper through the wrong lead. Now its up and running!
