Putting together a 60-in-1 cab with the jamma board that allows for trackball play.

Other than Gun Smoke, are there any other games on the 60-in-1 that uses all three buttons?

Just wondering how many buttons my control panel will need.

If anyone can help, please do so!

apparently super breakout uses 3 buttons depending on settings in the set up menu.

you can set gunsmoke to shoot all 3 ways at the same time off of 1 button.

So you only really need 2 buttons.

Yeah. But it sucks. If you like Gunsmoke, you NEED three buttons. It's pretty much unplayable in the one button mode.

Yep.

And Breakout isn't 3-buttons selectable in the menu. You just hit one when you first start the game to choose the brick layout you want. They don't document it in the game itself, so if you didn't know, you'd never use it...

Just cross-wire button 3 to the P2 start button (put both the P2 start lead and the BTN3 lead on the same switch). Then it's available if you actually need to press it.

Careful layout may allow you to actually use it in Gunsmoke.

You could also get creative and use a 7408 AND gate and make it so pressing both BTN1 and BTN2 send a BTN3 signal. However the above solution is a bit easier and cheaper and don't require exact identical contact to register correctly.

With a 60 in 1, I see no need to put a third button on the panel.

I'm guessing you have never played Gunsmoke... You need to be able to press two buttons at once.

You need a third button, if you want to play Gunsmoke. Re-using the 2p start button might work, I dunno, you'd have to get creative with the button layout. But if you're going to do that, why not just add the third button? What does a button cost, like two bucks?

for the record I agree with you guys, gunsmoke needs to have the 3rd button.

It also needs a separate volume control setting. :)

How to continue gunsmoke on 60 in 1

Can someone tell me if they have figured out how to continue gameplay for gunsmoke on the 60 in 1 boards.

I have set the dipswitch for continue.

when the game exits to the menu select it again fast and you will have continue time left

I have done that. It doesn't even show the timer. I give up. Is the only other way to continue gameplay in gunsmoke is to turn off all the other games?

strange
i have just tried it and it works, wonder if there is a different version out
