Does anyone know if the newer 60 in 1 boards support two trackballs in cocktail table mode? I have a Crystal Castle table that has the version that only supports one trackball in upright mode. I'd like to get this to work with two trackballs, that are already installed, in cocktail screen flipping mode.

Well - how about "maybe".

If you get a 60-in-1 that the on-board trackball connectors work, then that shouldn't be a problem.

However, if you get one of the 60-in-1's that have lately not worked with the onboard connectors, and have to be wired into the player 2 controls, then it won't work, as there is only wiring for one trackball that way, and no way to hook up a 2nd joystick while using the trackball.

If you can get someone to test the onboard connectors before buying it, that would be best...

Thanks for the reply. My current board is the one that requires the trackball to be wired into player two. One player works well. The Crystal Castle table is screaming for two trackballs. I need to find a version that supports two of them.

The newer A board will support 2 trackballs .

So will the B board supposedly, but there have been numerous accounts recently of both A and B boards where the onboard trackball connectors do not work, and you have to wire the trackball into the player 2 wiring....

I have the B version with two connectors but as you said, it does not work. I
had to wire it into player two. I am hoping to get two trackballs to work
in cocktail table mode.

Assuming that both trackball connectors work, if you hook up trackballs can you still use joysticks or will it be trackball only?

You can have joysticks and buttons still on both sides.
The trackball connects directly to the pcb via molex connector.

I too have been getting shitty "A" boards that the connector didn't work. Haven't tried to test the trackball on my latest board yet.

If you really wanted the trackball connectors to work when they don't, I'm sure you could always cut the traces to the pins on those connectors (just in case) and then solder jumpers from the edges of the 2-Player pads to those pins. That would make one trackball connector work, and still leave wiring for a 2nd player joystick. not sure how you could use this to make the 2nd connector work, unless the Player 1 side wiring would...

You might want to consider MAME. I know it's not an optimal experience by any standard, but my understanding (from playing with it with two mice) is that it can handle twin trackballs and cocktail flip on most games that support them. Obviously it'd be a pain in the neck because you'd need to get proper connections for the trackballs and a proper output for the monitor, but it's something to think about.

On a separate note: does anyone have any idea why these 60-in-1 boards don't work with the TB connectors? I mean, has anyone tried to debug them? Is it back connectors? Bad inputs?
