This may sound really stupid, but I'm looking to put a 60-in-1 board into an old Pacman Cabaret.

This was originally designed for a 13" CRT and has a metal boot out the back. Is there anything 'special' about the Arcade LCD monitors I see on new egg and such, or can I just use my old 15" LCD from my computer ? It is 4:3 orientation and has VESA mounting brackets in the back, so I figured it would be an easy drop in. Am I right, or is there something special about the ones (mounting brackets not withstanding) that are sold specifically for arcade cabs ?

I put a 22 inch wide flat screen computer monitor in mine. You have to adjust to make fit. But a computer monitor should work.

Hope this helps

Ps: I used a lg monitor for it has a 1/4" or more lip around monitor and made it easier to put in cab. I just cut a new piece where the original monitor was sitting on for the size of mine and holds like a CRT monitor now. And now the monitor just rests on the lip of the monitor. It's was easier this way, because of the lip on the monitor now rest on the wood. Just cut the hole smaller so lip can rest on it.
