I am getting an open frame 13" VGA monitor (waiting on the mail) and am planning on building a countertop cab for it. The question is should I go with a vertical mount and do the 60/1 or a horizontal mount and 1069-1 with only 3 or 4 button games and less enabled. I'm leaning towards the 1069, but am still on the fence.

The plan is just for a 1p control panel also with a 4/8 way switchable stick -- a 2p layout will be too overcrowded for this I think.

60-in-1. All the games can be played with 3 buttons and 1 joystick. Even Centipede, etc can be played with the joystick.

Save the big one for a cab that can handle all the games.

Besides, the 60-in-1 will be more popular with visitors...

the 10XX-in-1 has to be set up as a 2 player for sure

I had a 60/1 Ms Pac that recently left...she didn't get much love from anyone other then myself and 2 or 3 others -- none of my kids were really interested in playing any games on her much. Maybe a smaller, more girlie colored tabletop cab will get them to play some of those games this time around (I have daughters).

i built myself a tabletop model with a 9" lcd screen and a 60-1. 1 player, and 6 buttons total. I used a ms. pac reunion joystick, and wrapped the actuator until it will just catch the 45's if you hold it just right. It still handles all the 4 way games great, and is a blast to play. Anyway, no way i'd wast a 10xx-1 on something that small. the 60-1 is great.
LCD's aren't my favorite by any means, but this allowed me to build a really small lightweight cab.
Not sure why the pics came out so yellow, but here they are.
