Got a new 60-1 board going in a dig dug. The jamma adaptor came today. Plugged the adaptor into the pcb, and then into the connector. The monitor displays nothing. If I unplug it and plug the dig dug board back in everything is fine. It looks like the only dipswitch that should be on initially is 3, the free play switch.

Thoughts, suggestions?

There are two different versions of the Dig Dug PCB - one by Atari and one by Namco. Did you buy the right adapter for your harness? The two don't use the same pinout....

That is to use a Galaga pcb in a Jamma wired cab.
I looked at the first one you posted and according to the Arcadeshop site it is supposed to be used in a Dig Dug cab among others.

Well apparently I screwed up. I have an atari board, not Namco, and apparently there is no adapter for the atari dig dug according to arcade shop amusements in Georgia.

Someone probably makes one - there are lots of places that sell them. If not, it's really easy to make your own adapter. Bob Roberts has all the parts you need.

I did the same thing with a Dig Dug. I made the harness, but I think used a different ARII board for the sound. I made the adapter and then had a 2x2 connector that went into the ARII board. It's been a couple of years ago and not quite sure on it now.

I think you're need to make the adapter yourself... not as many people want to plug JAMMA boards into their Dig Dug cabinet (relative to the number that want to plug Dig Dug into a JAMMA cab).

Beware, though. I built myself an adapter to plug (Namco) Galaga into (Atari) Dig Dug, and I discovered mistakes in pretty much every pinout I found online... for both games IIRC.

In your case the JAMMA pinout is pretty well documented :p but you will find differences in the Dig Dug pinout depending on where you look. I ended up relying on the Atari DD schematics and inspection of my harness and PCB instead of online pinouts.

If you never plan on it being a Dig Dug again, it's easier to just put a JAMMA harness in...
