I removed my iced board to try in cocktail and put back into upright, I cannot get upright to stop flipping screen. I've went in and changed cocktail setting but seems to not save when powered off and back on. Screen keeps flipping on second player. Am I retarded and missing something.?

To save the DIP switch settings on the icades setting screen you need to hit the player one button to save your changes. You'll then see a message saying it's saving. You may not have done this, which is why your changes weren't saved.

go to the last page, input test sw page and see if your cabinet is wired wrong
as one player should not go back, go back is either test or service sw maybe that wired to 1 player somehow

When I hit player one it just goes back a page?

Something may be wired wrong. In the JAMMA harness pinout, button 3 should take you back a page on the icade- NOT the P1 start button. Most people do not have a 3-button iCade so most people don't have access to the back-a-page feature. Is it possible that your button three is wired to the P1 start button?

What am I looking for on last page? When I push player one it backs up a page? How do I fix?

Look at your wiring.

The wire from #17 should go to the player one start button (along with a ground wire too). Follow the wire to make sure. It sounds like you may have another wire hooked up to the actual button- possibly #24 runs there instead.

This is where I'm lost there's two wires running from switch. Both run into big connector. Is there any other way to confirm settings

Is one of them black? If so you need to leave that one connected. That's a ground. The second wire is the one you should be concerned with. The picture I posted above is a visual representation of the edge connector that the iCade board plugs into. You need to find the second wire that plugs into the P1 button, the one that's not black, and trace it all the way back to the edge connector. Then look at the picture I posted and verify that the wire you traced (not black) that's plugged into the Player 1 Start button runs to the pin #17. I don't know how to make it a whole lot simpler than that.

Whoever installed spliced the wires from icade and they change colors before connector. I will try and trace but may take awhile. Can I run a jumper from 17 to player one switch just to confirm setting. Because everything was working fine, till I took out to try in cocktail and just need to confirm upright setting!

I suppose you could run a jumper, but there may be another problem. You said you already switched it to cocktail mode once right? So you probably had to confirm it, I don't understand why it worked once but not now. Anyway, try it if you want.

I switched setting in cocktail. When I put back in upright and played, it flips on player 2. So I've tried to set in settings but won't confirm or hold setting. I turn off/on and it goes back to cocktail setting

So when you switched the setting in your cocktail(back to upright), did you hit the player one button to save changes?

Sounds like your upright wiring is not right.

I can't remember? But everything on my upright works fine. Just need to get settings back so doesn't flip on 2nd player. Can I just put a jumper wire on 17 and put on player one button so I can confirm settings?

if the wiring in your upright is modified, i would just put the board back in your cocktail, make the settings needed, save it, and then plug back into the upright.

I took out of upright to try cocktail and see if game worked. Changed setting to make switch. Forgot to reset and put in upright. Then tried switching back only to find this problem. Cocktail long gone!

Sounds like your player 1 start button and service switch are wired together. Follow thw wires back to confirm this.

Test button goes forward in the menu system, service switch goes back.

Fire button changes yes/ no
Player one goes back and player 2 goes forward next thing!
What's easiest way to set without rewiring whole thing or finding someone with multicade

Temporarily disconnect the wire from the "R" terminal on the edge connector, and see if hitting Player 1 start, will allow you to save changes.
