Apparently screwed up my 60-1 board by using the wrong jamma adaptor. Boots up fine, but one of the chips gets hot quickly and will likely blow soon according to my sources. Who should I contact about getting it fixed that knows what they are doing?

Thanks,

Greg

If the PCB works, why not simply attach a heatsink or even a heatsink/fan combo (like for a CPU or PC Northbridge/Southbridge)?

Interesting, you ever done that before? Difficult to install? Recommended type/ brand?

I don't know which board version you have, but is it one of these chips?

A small sharp cutter. Will clip the legs off the chip.
A small solder iron will remove the leg off the board with out pad lifting issues.
A Little low temp solder paste and the same iron should be able to tack that chip down.

ULN2003
Is a darlington transistor array.
Should be a locate able chip.
This part should work

Now the question do you know how to replace a Surface mount chip?
How small is your soldering iron. Yes, size does matter.
How is your eyes site? If you can't see it it hard to solder to it.
How good is your solder? Crappy solder is hard to work with.
How small is your tweezers?
How sharp are you cutters?

Thanks for the link alpha. Yeah I won't be able to solder it, but I am fairly certain that I can find someone who can.

Good news, alphas link produced the right chip, and the good fortune of having a retired father that used to work on computers for a living has produced a perfectly working/ repaired 60-1 board!
