Just wondering how hard it is to find the 6 player Xmen. Im sure its most peoples holy grail. Ive never seen one pop up. Also if I were to find one what is it worth

I don't think it's that rare, but I doubt many would consider it their grail cabinet. It's freakin huge, and while it's a fun beat 'em up, there's not much to do once you finish it.

I've read about them selling pretty cheap simply because they're so big.

I've never seen one sell for over $600. Most the time $200-$400 takes it home.

They are typically hiding in operator warehouses or passed around a local CL like a cheap hooker.

I have seen several in the midwest and you are in IA, so they are around. Just to big to do anything with them. I loved playing the game BITD.

Reeeally hope I can find one for that. I guess its more of a younger generation game.

Yeah, I'm 32 next month and remember lusting after this game hardcore when I would go to the arcades. My buddy owns one. It's a huge attraction, but has very short shelf life for replay. No other game like it in the world though. One of the best beat em ups for sure. You need excess space for it beyond what you think.

It's not that it's 5 feet wide, it's over 5 feet deep as well. One of the two monitors has a huge box which awkwardly sticks out in the rear like a viscous hemorrhoid.

I have a video game shop in Ames Iowa and I have an arcade in it so space really isn't an issue so hopefully I can track one down. Customers always ask about it

These things are HUGE - I'd say 200-400 is a fair estimate. Most that I have seen in recent years are usually beat up pretty well from getting moved around. I imagine it would not be hard to bump and bang around one of these heavy bastards when transporting even if they do come apart.

Cool well thanks for the heads up. I probably would have been dumb and paid way to much for it if I ever saw it.

The operator value on these cabs lie in the monitors. The collector value resides in the artwork.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO So sad. I played the PSN one and it just seems boring when your not smashing buttons.

I've seen this sell wildly at auction. One was the Fun Quarters closing auction in MD, their 6P xmen sold for $1200. I saw another sell 3 years ago at an auction game sales event in Timonium. Was towards the end of the day. No one bid on it (monitors were perfect) auctioneer finally gave up and asked if anyone would take it for $75. Everyone looked at eachother and some dude slowly raised his hand. No one challenged.

It's one of my grail machines that I hope I never have to part with. They are definitely a pain to move, but well worth it if you really like the game IMHO. I agree with Mitsurugi-w that a lot of them probably have been smashed over the years. Look at all the 6 player boards out there for sale and that has to represent a machine no longer with us. :( I would generally agree with what's been said and yeah it's not terribly hard to find one, but you'd want to be careful overpaying. I don't $500 is out of the question for a working one in good shape, but that's just me.

There was one on Craigslist in Nebraska or Iowa a month or so ago. It was priced around $300 I believe.
