6 player X-Men: does this pic indicate a need for a cap kit?

The left monitor shows as normal size. I tried adjusting the right monitor, but its picture is significantly smaller.

looks like you need 2 19" monitors, not one 19" and one 13"

lol, sorry luke, hope you get this fixed bud

Yes.
And I would take a stab at saying they were K7000's.

I would recommend capping the one that's shrunk.
(and the other in the near future for good measure)

The other one looks nice to me and I'm not into fixing what isn't broken. Everything looks stock, so K7000 sounds possible, but I haven't had time to check since I posted this.

yeah, if I remember correctly there are two k7000s in there. One is mounted normally and the other is mounted in a facing up position. Each one should have a remote pot board next to the coin door. If you don't see it, open the coin doors and feel around, it should be close. If memory serves me right, each remote board had a vertical size pot on it. Try to tweek this before you begin capping.

Yeah, I tried adjusting but it barely affects it.

It should have been real glass. If it wasn't, make it so. Real glass holds up a LOT better over time than plexi/lexan. And, the last time I priced it out, plexi is almost as much, if not more than glass. Maybe someone here could get you the measurments on that beast? I don't have one of those machines, sorry.

Did you cap the monitor yet? I did three last weekend and should have done before and after the picture really pops afterwards.

set aside about 3 hours of your life (per monitor, in your case). cause that's how long all my re-caps have taken. don't be intimidated by it either, it's actually very easy (permitting you're not re-capping junk U5000s with lifted pads/traces like I had to). just make sure your polarities are correct (note the lines on the sides of the caps) and that you don't bridge any solder joints. :)

it's possible you could have some cold solder somewhere, so check all the solder joints on the bad monitor, might be something as boneheaded as that.

and if you tried that already, sorry to be redundant. this is an awesome game, I hope you get it fixed. and bring your people over, I never played the 6-player one, only had the 4-player one... thrash Magneto's ish!

I took the monitor to an arcade repair shop around here and had them cap it, since I never had time to get to it. It still has the same problem. What else could be causing this?
