Ok. Here's the story. A friend bought a 6-in-1 switcher from Jammaboards.com. He sent it directly to me to get the mods done to it. When I used the remote to test the slots, I had to press the button upwards of 10 times for each slot to get it to change. That should have been the first clue right there, but because it was working, I assumed it was a weak battery. That was not to be the case.
I sent the switcher back to the buyer and he reported that it wouldn't switch at all. I told him it was giving me issues also, but it WAS switching. He said it was dead no matter what he did. He replaced the remote's battery to no avail. He ended up going over to a friend's place who also had a switcher and the remote worked great on his friend's switcher.
He contacted Jammaboards.com and they wanted him to buy a new switcher. F that. So, he boxed the switcher and remote up and sent it all back to me to take a look at. First thing I did was verify the problem. Yup, NOTHING I did would make the damn thing switch. I decided to start with re-flowing all the solder points on the receiver unit...
...and BAM! Switcher works great now in all aspects. I just wanted to put this out there in case anyone ever gets one of these things and it's intermittant, or not switching like this one was, one thing you can do is reflow all the pads on the RT/TX board. That worked for me!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
