Hello all,

I am having an issue with my 6 in 1 jamma selector i recently purchased. I was having an issue with the switching of the boards with the remote, but that has been resolved.

My new issue is that none of my buttons or coin door micros are working. The 6 in 1 will switch between boards with no problem. The audio and video also work without an issue. But, for some reason, I cant get any credits to register when i flick the microswitch on any of the coin doors. I tried to hook up a microswitch directly to the coin1 and coin2 slots in my jamma harness, but it didnt work. Also, one of my boards has a test mode button right on the board so i went into it to see if the joystick and button controls were working, but not the coin functions. After getting into test mode, none of the buttons or joysticks worked to navigate the test screen. Also, my lights by the coin return buttons wont work with the 6 in 1 plugged in. When a game board is directly plugged in, those lights work. We have one of the 12V wires going those doors and all of the 5V wires are going to the power supply.

When i plug my game boards directly into the jamma harness on the cabinet, the game works perfectly. So, im assuming it is an issue on the board. To give you more information, I am going to have all 6 slots filled with konami games (TMNT, turtles in time, simpsons, crime fighters, vendetta and sunset riders) I thought this might be significant because I heard people having trouble with midway boards due to the -5V pin. None of these games require it.

Also, I have tried the 6-in-1 on a couple different cabinets. I thought since some of my control panel wasnt completely hooked up in the cabinet im working on, that might give me problems. I was thinking maybe a complete circuit was needed for everything to go smoothly. So, I put it in a cabinet where all the wiring was complete and nothing worked still. if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks!
-Frank

With that much stuff not working across all boards.....I'd be checking the ground side of things on that switcher unit and make sure it is completing correctly.
(meter from your control grounds all the way to your power supply, should have continuity)

Not sure which switcher you have, but I have also heard of some having diodes in backwards on the switchers which will also cause things not to function.

Check the board for ground path continuity. There was a thread about this a while back and it seems the build quality of these boards is not very high and they may need to be resoldered in many places.

Make sure all the +5v and 12v wires are going to the edge connector from the power supply.
