6 hours drive & $90 in gas to obtain All Points Bulletin

Got home from work about 6pm last night, took all the crap out of the Trailblazer and drove 3 hours to go pick up an APB. Got home about 12:30am, but it was worth it.

May need a little monitor work. But very nice condition.

This is probably the one game that I remember the most, playing it back in the day.

I think the hardest part was fending off all the others that wanted it...damn craigslist.

Very nice. Pizza Inn by my house used to have that one-lots of my allowance money went into that.

Did you get the seat with it? Around here no one else wanted the APB on CL, I contacted the guy after a week and I think I was the first call he had. And when I tried to sell it later all I heard was crickets.

I had a seat that was obtained a long time ago, but I think it looks better without the seat. I think the APB is hard to find in my area. The guy I bought it from said that he drove 6+ hours one way to go pick it up.

I almost broke down and bought the one that has been on ebay forever for $650 + crazy shipping.

I know, isn't that crazy?!? I think I just changed it a month or two ago. Must've been meant to be

Great game! I feel sometimes APB gets no love for some unknown reason. Maybe some people have not played it, not sure....

When I got mine, it was sans the seat. I kid you not it took around 5 years to find one! I talked to op who had a couple of them, and it seems they were kind of a hassle on location, so a lot went dumpster bound....:(

I still have to do a tube swap or a buy one a tube since mine has SEVERE High Score table burn-in! And the fact med res monitors are not an easy find!

One problem I had w/ the game it keeps going, ad infintum.... I actually managed to roll through all the criminals three times and nothing new.... There was talk on COSP with the programmer about an *ending*, and he never really gave a straight answer or didn't recall... Can't remember....

Nice pick up. I used to love playing that game back in the day.

Well got to plug it in tonight and the monitor fired up, but no sounds or anything. The switcher installed does not have a green light, but it is plugged in. So I'm thinking that the switcher is dead.

There is also another red w/ white wire that was loose by the switcher. Where does that go, 5V?

I have a PC power supply that I can use the 5V off of, but the switcher has a brown wire in the "FG" spot, what is that?

I hadto drive only five hours to pick mine up. I know where the original seat is too but I can't seem to get the guy to call me back :(
Nice score though. It's such a fun game.

FG = earth ground

finally bought a seat for my APB
need to manufacture another seat for my second APB

summertime i will build a few of them while im at it

Switcher was dead. Must've been from someone hooking it up wrong. Put in an old AT power supply and it works great. I only hooked up the +5V and 5V ground. I didn't connect the sense wires (didn't know where they would go). It works fine though.

Monitor works ok, but has a bunch of burn.

Next is to swap in a Sony 21" VGA monitor & CGA (EGA) to VGA converter.
EGA to VGA looks perfectly fine for those who doubt it. It is not as big of leap as CGA to VGA.

Mine was deivered, but traded off pretty quickly. I guess this is one of the games you had to experience back in the 80s. I just didn't get it. My game did have a long next journey though, from Nevada to Idaho.

WHAT!!??

How far can you get? What day?

One credit or continued?

You may have the world's record!

On 1 credit, I usually can get to Day 26? It's the one w/ a tons of Drunks, Dopers and Murderers. That particular stage always gives me trouble!

I set it too unlimited continues to see all the criminals. I believe the last one is Billy Bob, then it starts repeating.... If you go in the test screen, your greeted w/ more criminals which I haven't been able to get too! There is a page dedicated to APB on COSP, and I talk about the enigma....

As far as I know, there is no ending.

I would not do that. Collectors prize originality and monitor burn isn't a big deal. They would rather see that than a hacked in VGA monitor. There are plenty of pros here that can help you get it looking sharper with better colors, usually a cap kit.

If you still do it, sell the monitor here, you will get a lot of responses.
