I was gonna buy a 6 in 1 Janna PCB .but was told it needs service switches and -5v for boards to work. all the boards I have need this -5v. NBA jam. NBA jam te. Tmnt. Xmen.
Nebody have this PCB setup is it worth it or not . Im not worried bout a lil soldering
...
Would I need to buy several 3-4 p harnesses for every diff game or unplug from boards everytime that kinda defeats the purpose of the 6 in 1. Looks like wiring time also.
Thanks

Here's Zenomorp's thread on the -5 and service switch mods:

And here's the thread with information about using diodes for the kick harnesses to wire all of them together w/o getting the phantom LK/buttons registering as pressed constantly thing:

That should get you all the info you need, if there's anything else ask and someone should be able to get you the answer.

A service switch is not needed to use the 6 in 1.
I have the switcher in my DK,using a jamma harness with no service switch wired in.
If you want a switch to use on individual boards then I guess you could wire one directly to each slot.
My boards don't need them since they don't have menus to access.

The service switch mod is only necessary if you're dropping games that make use of it into the 6-1. Off the top of my head I don't know if the boards the OP mentioned makes use of that lead, so it's entirely up to them.

As an aside, there's also been a lot of discussion about slots on the board dying thanks to under-powered/rated/whatever relays. The ones used on the board just can't handle the current draw that occurs with some games, so they blow after a while. I'd been waiting until I had figured out the relays that were on there and what they need to be replaced with before modding/putting in mine, as I've recently become unemployed I may have the time to do that, I'll follow up if I get all that figured out.

I had zeno do the service switch mod to my boards and fix the -5 volt jammaboards mod, and well hell make my LK harness. He is most assuredly THE MAN!

I love my switcher set up.

THe service switch mod if you do it you need diodes or you getting ghosting the same as with the LK harness(or the 3P/4P harness). Goodluck with your switcher if I can be of help feel free to PM me.
