Ok I just uncovered a box that has brand new coin mechs in them. These are in the original factory packaging. The only problem is they are for US nickels. What am I supposed to do with these? Maybe I can convert 20 of my games to nickels. :p

Oh by the way there was also a box with quarter mechs along with the holders. These were brand new too. :D

There are many nickel arcades across the country so you could try selling them on eBay. All of my machines that predate 1975 have nickel coin slots on them as well...

There used to be an arcade here that had all their games equipped with nickel mechs, and charged an entry fee. For the ($5, iirc) entry fee, you could play all day on a couple rolls of nickels. Of course, they went out of business, but, hey - at least there are still some places out there using nickel mechs.

You know, I've seen nickel, dime, quarter, token, and Susan B Anthony mechs... but never a 50 cent piece mech (except in a large jukebox multi-denomination mech), and I've never seen any kind of coin acceptor that takes pennies. Well, at least, no coin acceptor that's *supposed* to take pennies. I'm not talking about spinning them up through the coin return...

Don't remember seeing any nickel games, but I did see a few pins BITD that were 1 game for a dime, 3 for a quarter.

I don't know if they have regular coin acceptors in them, but Meijer (a department/grocery store chain the midwest) has those little mechanical horse rides for the kids for 1 penny.

How many in a box and how much are you looking for for them?

Im guessing slots also. There are still 1c, 5c, 10c slots at every casino, but now all coin handling is done with comparitors and BDV on them.
Are they metal or plastic mechs?

Hey Mike,

I can actually use these. What do you need for them?
