500th post. Replacement for an Alien Poker display?

So I sold off my Alien Poker machine a few days ago. The 4th player display worked for a day or so when I first got it, but it went out quickly. The tape that held the display was 10 years old and my half assed attempt at fixing it with electrical tape did not fix it. One of the leads actually broke from getting bent enough times. I have offered to split the cost to get that repaired if I can find a replacement.

When getting the machine ready to be sold I pulled the display and saw a sacralige to any person who has a clue about soldering. So bummed I do not have pics yet. It was an insane nightmare. There were jumper wires all over it and globs of solder. My attempts to clean it up were not successful. It is not working at all.

With the pinscore you have to switch all the displays out from what I can tell. It is a 7 digit display from a 6a machine. I saw something on pinlife, but I think I need the board as well. Is there a place where I can get replacements? I tried googling and am not having much luck.

Pinball Resource sells replacement glass, and I think you can still find it from a few other sources; see:

http://www.pbresource.com/display.html

Again - this is just the glass, so you'll need to remove the old glass, and solder in the replacement.

You can otherwise find used displays on eBay and such; may take some time, and not sure how much of a hurry you're in...

Yeah, for any LED style setup, you have to replace all the displays and the master board. For your situation, probably not the best option.

You would probably be better off finding a good used 7 digit display, which can be had on Mr. Pinball, E-bay, RPG, etc.... Otherwise, you can also try replacing the glass, but it sounds like the board may be in bad shape?

Kohut (www.pinballpcb.com) does sell brand new plasma display units, $69 for a 7-digit display board already assembled on a new PCB. I haven't used his stuff myself, but everybody raves about the overall quality of them.
