Alright the ad was posted over the weekend, I responded Monday morning figuring, yeah right, but it was poorly listed so I thought what the hell. I didn't hear anything and then tonight I realize the email on my phone isn't working right so I decide to pull it up on my computer and find that the guy selling the Tempest had emailed me an hour and a half prior saying the game was still available. I called as fast as humanly possible to here, "Sorry someone JUST picked it up" That is the second $50 Tempest I have missed out on, FML. So who got it?

*edit: Here is the ad...

Alright who else is there? I figure the way the ad was written it had to be a collector that found it. And I looked into my email issues a little further and it was damn Comcast that screwed me, apparently the guy actually emailed me back Monday morning and I didn't receive the email until yesterday evening. So lame.

Yeah, that does stink. I don't have any idea who it might have been. Not necessarily someone from here though. There's a lot of people who cruise CL just looking for deals on anything. And at $50, a lot of folks, even non collectors, might think that was a bargain.

I'm not big into the cocktails so I might not have gone for it anyway, depending on where it is. I don't remember the location now. But that's cool that you snapped the image of the ad before it went away. I'll have to start doing that.

Tempest is one of those titles that's tricky to search since you usually find a bunch of damn car parts.

One tip though- always include your cell number in your reply so you'll get a faster response. If you don't want to give that out, consider getting one of the throw-away prepaid phones just to use for Craigslist deals.

I've found sellers usually prefer to call, it helps weed out scammers, and I suspect if the seller has 5 emails and only one contains a call back number, they'll call before emailing.

Believe me, I always include my phone number, learned my leason a long time ago with that one. My reply was simple, said I was interested, had cash, truck and was ready to get it.

Tempest cocktail

Well chaps - you're all wrong, I bagged it! I too couldn't believe my luck especially as I had to wait all frickin day in work and then go home, get the wife's car etc etc. I was certain it would have gone by the time I got there. It came with an LV2000 too :)

Didn't get time to test it or check it out yet, that's for the weekend.

I may be open to trades on it though, I already have an upright.

Well at least the game went to a collector and not to a flipper, hopefully one day I will track one of these down for a price I can afford. If there is anything you are looking for I will gladly trade pretty much anything I own.

At least it went to a collector??? He's trying to flip it before he plugs it in.. I would say he's in it for the money...

Wow! Thanks for jumping to conclusions there MrBill! I have bought from you before (Gyruss) and I think you know, if you remember me, that I am a very genuine collector and gamer. I said it may be for trade AT SOME POINT. Once its working. I don't need 2 of the same game but is it such a crime to buy one with a hope of trading for another that you do want, and at the same time satisfying another collector?

Sheesh.

OK rant off - need my morning coffee.

My only point was a response to pmichelsen posted it went to a collector not a flipper. Well, your 1st words were about flipping it(trading is flipping)... I thought it was funny..

I have no problems with you getting it/reselling it/trading it. You won the race, You deserve the spoils. I am sure anyone who had one and was in distance of the cocktail would have done the same thing.. I thought about going for it, but I was very busy that day.. Good luck with trading it. I am sure you can get pretty much whatever you want with it..

Fair enough - but its far from my mind right now, I may even hang onto it,it would be one of the few machines I *may* be allowed in the house! Nice to have a spare vector monitor and Tempest boardset too :)
