Picked this up tonight for a 50 spot. It seems to be in a Stargate cab. Monitor turns on, but only get green. Couldn't seem to get game to start/coin up cuz I can't see anything!lol Messed with flyback and neckboard knobs, not much of a change..but hey! for $50, I couldn't pass it up! Any info on the boards would be appreciated, there is some japanese text by the jamma connector. Of course, any monitor pointers would help too; once I dig in I'm sure I'll start a repair thread...

(sorry for crappy iPhone pics, my garage was kinda dark)

The lines are from the camera...

The horizontal lines are NOT from the camera, and appeared after messing with the flyback knobs

Yeah definitely a Stargate. My buddy picked up one that was converted to shinobi. We picked up a nonworking stargate in a Joust cab at auction a few months ago and are going to de-convert the Stargate and maybe eventually make the Joust a Multi-Williams.

Not sure what I'm gonna do yet, but I'm def thinking about bringing back stargate.

Got a question for the restoration vets, how much would I be looking to spend IF I were to convert back to stargate? I've never done a complete restore like this.

My Lucky N Wild machine did that after I rebuilt the monitor (both screen and gameplay were dead when I got it). I thought I'd done something wrong with the monitor rebuild. After I got the monitor rebuilt I noticed that the connector going from the PS to the boardset was fried. Oryk Zinyo helped walk me through a replacement connector find, and after that, the game powered up with a perfect screen.

What I'm getting at is, that's most likely a board issue, not a monitor issue.

Hope this helps!

You could make some money for your restoration by selling the pcb and marquee to exidy!
If it was my cab, I would keep it JAMMA and make it a multi-williams.

...

Restoring it wouldnt be bad.

Marquee
Bezel
Control Panel Overlay
Joystick Buttons
Cabinet Stencils / Stickers

Id probably go the multi williams route too, and sell the the board + marquee :)

I would probably go the Williams Multi route as well. You'll get a lot more use out of the cab and the artwork is readily available.

Yes it does, thank you much. Gonna dive in and see what I can find tonight, any other suggestions are welcome :) hope the tube ain't crappin :(

Well it's def a monitor issue. After adjusting the dips, game started playing blind (well, playing green lol) After messing with the neckboard, I was able to get somewhat of a picture, albeit blurry:

Actually, was able to get rid of most the green, but not much, if any, red. It looked like white/purple almost.

I would rather see it restored that made a multiwilliams.

In fact, if you are going to restore it, I'll sell you a set of quality stencils that I never got around to using. They go for $65 plus shipping at gamestencils.
I'll sell them for $20 plus shipping to get you started :)
