MARIO BROS. Team No-Pow by Ross Benziger and John Bartkiw (awesome dudes) 364,000 points

- I would have been happy to get ONE world record achieved at the show. Watching 5 of them was awesome.

Thanks for "bringing it" to the show. You guys rock!

That score is correct. LL is an old game and what you are experiencing are the effects of "points inflation". As games get newer, they add zeros to the score to make it more exciting than the previous generation.

Congrats to those guys and I'm not taking anything away from them, but I care about those records or any world records about as much as my desire to empty a can of bondo into a paper bag and inhaling the fumes.

just thought it might be 17050 or similiar, now i want to play it lol

You have 750 units of fuel, when its gone the game is over. If you just land on the moon at a non bonus spot its 50 points. The most you can get on a bonus spot is 250 points. The game picks the bonus spots at random. You can easily burn 200-300 units of fuel on just one landing:D If you crash on any landing attempts you loose additional fuel. The previous world record was set in 2003. it was 1525.

So, are you saying that you are a chronic huffer? You DID open the thread, read it, then post in it. Not to take away anything from huffing. :p

Man, you smashed the record, well done! Going to be hard to beat that :)

I wonder if they would let you do the Galaga "No Bullets" Cheat and still register a world record?

It's part of the game after all :D

No that is explicitly declared in the Galaga TG settings page. Both marathon and 5 man.

I just want to whine a little about that cheat. I used to put up the high score on Galaga @ college and then about 6 months after I arrived someone kept putting up 999,xxx - I never could find out when they played and I didn't know about that damn cheat until years later. Ruined that game for me.

I set up DK and DKJR for him and didn't see him play once. I didn't ask why. No big whoop. I am just happy that he was there to hang out with friends and give us a seminar. He is probably more comfortable setting records in the privacy of his own garage without the pressure, flashing lights, and crowds. Thank you, Steve Wiebe.

No, Sean is super cool. He played about an hour and a half beyond beating the previous world record. The Seattle Center has a strict shut down rule, he could have played for another 12 hours. He came, he played, he conquered.

There's a funny story about his world record set in Seattle. About 10 hours into the marathon, he had to pee. You cannot walk away from Punch-Out for breaks. We gave him a stool that he placed between him and Gil Ruta's Punch-Out. I then borrowed a clear parts bucket from one of the pinball vendors and placed it on the stool for Sean. John McAllister and I held up a table cloth to give him privacy so he could pee WHILE he played Punch-Out. After he was done, I had to discretely carry a half-full sloshing bucket of urine through the arcade and into the restroom while John McAllister cleared the way. The pinball vendor didn't want the bucket back.

I was wondering about stuff like that.
They should get those things that let you piss your pants like bikers use.

Well you don't really piss your pants but some hose system with a bag.

10 hours before he had to piss for the first time? Damn. Maybe I need my prostate checked at 30. I piss more than once in 10 hours. I also drink a lot of water though, so whatever.

He abstained from liquids 24 hours before starting the game. I couldn't believe how much pee was in the bucket.

Nice job on the record. Like the LP cover avatar too.
