I had one of those, it was pretty fun. Although I tried to make it pick up things that were too heavy and stripped the gears. In an electronics class in high school, for one of our projects we had to connect one to a PC and write a program (in BASIC iirc) to control it. Fun times!

Actually they've had "robocoasters" since the early 00's at amusement parks. They are perfectly safe unless you're using a home version and don't program it correctly. They are pretty much just like the one posted in the video.

Plenty of people still get their channels 'off air'. They just needed to get a different receiver in order to tune in to the new frequencies.
