+5!! Spaeth got banned but Dokert didn't? Especially after this thread he started:

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=95796

Unreal.

Dokert never mentioned Spaeth in that thread.
He was just asking people's opinion on the product.
I admit I don't know too much about pcb's and their repair, but I would expect better quality than that out of something I purchased,no matter who I bought it from.
It tells me that it was hastily thrown together and although it might work now,who knows for how long.

The whole situation could have been avoided with a PM or a phone call even. wow... ;)

As far as 'constant physical threats'. We've only seen the one that was in the mspaeth thread. If it happens again, it will be at his own peril. As far as 'constant'. The action was taken for 'one physical threat'. As far as 'constant'-- we probably don't see if if no one reports it.

The problem with that is Mark doesn't seem to respond to them.
How many times have you seen a ping for him because he hasn't responded to email or PM's.
If he did then all this crap could be avoided.

and why was Spaeth banned at all ? Lame.

Spaeth got the lightest ban, and was directly the result of a specific post or postings. It's between him and us. If he wants more specifics than has been given already he can ask us.

Oh, please. We all knew what he was doing and we all knew whose board that was. He was fishing for a flame war.

If he had a problem with the workmanship he should have contacted Mark in private. That's the correct way to handle questions or concerns.

Bans are temporary, and hopefully a wake up call to everyone.

Action was taken based on that individually reported topic.

If you are concerned about a posting by Dokert or anyone else, that is what the report post feature is for, one of the main benefits of our new forum upgrade earlier this year.

Spaeth over-reacts when people bait him. He should have more restraint than what he shows. Friz is the same way. Dokert may have been instigating, but he was at least keeping it Civil. Can't say the same for those that got the ban hammer.

Note to everyone: You don't HAVE to hit the "submit reply" button after typing a post. It is perfectly okay to throw away your brilliantly crafted, ultra clever posts sometimes. I do that quite often if someone has rubbed me the wrong way.

I don't care at this point frankly. If I am going to be banned for defending someone... for calling out a guy who threatened physical violence... then make it permanent. There are THOUSANDS of proxy servers.

Internet tough guy calling out another internet tough guy does not cancel out. It just makes 2 internet tough guys stinking up threads. Report a perceived threat. I have reported a few posts in the past, and a mod always responds in quick order.

[admin delete. Nothing bad but getting this very fast growing thread off topic a tad too quickly, and continues something else that was deleted above.]

The bans are very short.

No one was banned for 'calling out a guy who threatened physical violence.'.

There are plenty of people here who have never seen or purchased Mark's products.
As to contacting mark look at post #24
