5 business days instead of 3 - Shame on me!

So I sell a game and on my listing I state that it will ship within 3 business days. I made arrangements for pickup at my home (not usually where I have my games picked up) the truck never comes. So Monday I dropped it off. I let him know what was going on.

I didn't pay attention to the bill of lading and didn't notice that he didn't give me a phone number. They hold it at the dock waiting for me to get a phone number from him, send and email, don't hear back. Today he asks why he hasn't gotten his game. Well, considering you live across the country you wouldn't have it yet anyways but I need your phone number. He sends me his phone number I fax over a new bill of lading with the information on it and it is on it's way.

So this afternoon I get this email:


"if i am to understand you correcttly, this item has not been shipped as of even this point...??

you have just faxed them the bill of lading...??

the auction stated it would ship in 2 days.... i counted on that fact.

please just refund my paypal purchase and shipping, and forget it."


It is already on it's way. My auction stated it would ship within 3 business days (as do all my auctions) and due to some hiccups went out in 5 business days. Is that really something to cry over!?!

Seriously! I didn't make the guy wait and ship it like 2 weeks later.
 
if its on ebay, make sure you fill out the box for handling time, i always give myself atleast 3 days. . . .that way if i drag ass its no big deal. . .
 
Sounds more like buyers remorse to me! Just looking for an excuse to weasel out. I could be wrong... have been plenty of times before! :)

If the game is already in transit there's not much you can do about it. There's no way paypal is going to do anything about it either.

I would say "sorry but the game has already shipped" and leave it at that.
 
Yeah, that's what I told him. I'm kinda thinking it was buyers remorse also. I always put that item will ship within 3 business days to give me time to get everything together and get it out around everything that I already have going on. It just makes me mad because now I have a feeling he is going to be a jerk about it and leave me negative feedback now.

Gee thanks. I just can't believe he is being a jerk over 2 extra days. Really, come on now. Their was nothing I could do about it. I was very prompt with emails keeping him informed. Some people are ridiculous I tell ya.

2. The shipment was slowed by his lack of disclosure.
 
Yeah, that's what I told him. I'm kinda thinking it was buyers remorse also. I always put that item will ship within 3 business days to give me time to get everything together and get it out around everything that I already have going on. It just makes me mad because now I have a feeling he is going to be a jerk about it and leave me negative feedback now.

I don't know where the game is going too....but I shipped a game from Louisville KY to Phoenix AZ....door to door.....via Naval. I believe it took 16 days, and went through 5 different shipping companies. I'm amazed anything actually makes it to it's destination (in one piece) :)

There are people out there that just lose sight of the fact that this hobby is all a bunch of individuals doing the best they can.

I don't know where the game is going too....but I shipped a game from Louisville KY to Phoenix AZ....door to door.....via Naval. I believe it took 16 days, and went through 5 different shipping companies. I'm amazed anything actually makes it to it's destination (in one piece) :)

It's going from UT to NJ and will be their Tuesday. I don't see anything for him to complain about.

Good point! I forgot today was Veteran's Day. So that makes it 4 instead of 5. Thanks for pointing that out.

did the auction say not counting holidays...?

FLAT SHIP! BUY 2DAY!"

Which I of course meant.......buy it today as it was on a Buy it now price. He is trying to tell me that means 2 days to ship.

You will then receive an email with the tracking information for your item within 3 business days of receiving cleared payment, typically it will take 1 to 5 business days to get there. You will receive a phone call upon your items arrival. You can then pickup your item or arrange for home delivery options.

If he can't tell the difference between "by" and "buy" I can't say anything to help you. You do have my sympathies though... Good Luck!
 
Now he sends me this:

"twist what you want.

i will file a complaint with paypal and refuse the shipment"
