Changed out a Flyback on a 4900, my new Flyback has a flap that doesn't allow for the metal cover to screw back down. I noticed the old Flyback had a small nut that went to the flap and it seemed to act as a ground? Should I leave the metal cover off? Or did it serve another purpose. Thanks

Not sure, have worked on tonss of k4900's and never had a reason to change the original. What was wrong with your original fly?

Nothing much, it worked but the range was severely limited on it so I swapped it out for a new one when doing a cap kit.

I'd have to look at one of my chassis's, I've never used a replacement fly on a k4900 but I'm guessing the plate would be a heat or RF sheild.

If you changed the flyback, chuck that metal piece that went from the fly back to the chassis frame. Only purpose it served was to help prevent flexing of the chassis.
