Need a bit of assistance if possible. I'm doing a multi with a pc monitor. I can't get the monitor to power on with the cab. I tried jumpering the power switch with no luck. It wouldn't even power on that way. I took the jumper off and it works again like normal. I know folks have done this, so any insight?

Thanks.

It has been reported that some PC monitors go into "power saver" mode if they don't get a constant signal from the PCB on one of the lines, and apparently the multi's don't always provide that constant signal. I've seen this before with a monitor myself, and switched monitors and had no more issues.

I think someone talked about adding a jumper to make it work, but I don't recall the specifics...

Well, what I have going on is it doesn't turn on with the machine. I have to power on the cab, the press the power button on the monitor. I tried to hold the power button on the monitor while powering up the cab, but that didn't work either.

when i did mine i used a old school monitor that had a real on off button and left it on of course.....

i read of a hack to hack thr newer monitors like yours but ill be damned if i can find it now..

Okay, so that sounds like a different issue. Your monitor works, but it doesn't come on automatically when you turn the game on? I guess it doesn't have sleep mode? You could always open up the monitor and bypass the on/off switch so that it's always on, so when it's get turned on at the cab switch (plug) it comes on right away...

It sounds like you might have to keep power to the monitor all the time. When the game shuts off, the monitor will go into standby mode and shut the screen off. When the game powers up and sends a signal to the monitor, it should wake up.

I had this issue years ago. When i would push the button to turn the monitor on i could hear a click on the pcb,it was a relay that ran the whole works. The on/off switch operated this relay on or off with every press. So i just ran a jumper wire across it and problem solved.Finding it was easy, just touch any larger rectangular plastic box looking things when you turn it on,you will feel it kick.As for advice on how to jump it ,i don't know.Mine was pretty straight forward,ground,2 larger traces and the input from whatever circuitry fed it from the power button.I jumpered the 2 larger ones.you will have to do your research to see what you need to do with yours.
Good luck

Found the relay, but don't know what to jumper it with. It has four solder lugs shorting any combination of them does nothing. Any ideas?

You know that power switch you push to turn it on? plug the monitor in and figure out which pads open and close when the monitor is turned on and off. You should measure an open with it off and a short with it closed. Once you find those pads/leads, jumper them...
