Hello folks. I just installed a 48-in-1 in my Donkey Kong Jr cabinet and will be keeping the 4-way stick. I wanted to see which games I should remove from the list so I put together this list of the games included in the board, what stick it uses (2-way, 4-way, 8-way) and how many buttons it has. I also added whether it was MONO sound or STEREO which ended up a waste of time as the only stereo game in the list is Gyruss...but oh well. I am going to disable all 8-way games and until I get a 2nd button drilled in the CP, I am going to also remove all 2-button games.

I used information provided on KLOV and ARCADE-HISTORY. If you notice an error, please let me know! Thank you!

Here is the list:

EDIT: I tried to line everything up but the editor is obviously not WYSIWYG...

2 corrections (how do I submit a correction to KLOV as both entries are incorrect on KLOV?):

Dig Dug II uses a 4-way stick not an 8-way

as does Van-Van Car which also is listed as an 8-way on KLOV.

What's the 2nd button on Huster do? And Breakout can support 3 buttons, you need the additional buttons to select different levels. Also I don't think the dial or trackball is supported. Why do it say pac-man uses a button?

Thank you folks, I am updating as I go. After playing Pinball on the 48-in-1 it seems to use the joystick left and right for the flippers (another KLOV error). Pac Man was a typo on my part...i'll check the others...thanks!

EDIT: Is there some sort of limit to the amount of time you have to edit a post...I can't edit this original post?

No, you can select weather you want to use the joystick or the Buttons for the flipper. Myself I have it set to buttons since that seems more natural. And KLOV has alot of errors.
Yeah Gyruss needs an 8 way, that would make it feel more natural then a 4 way, not sure why I said that in the first place.

Yes, there is, although I'm not sure the exact length of time you have to edit.

Per your post on how some games seem to be controlled differently than the KLOV listings.

Bear in mind that the programmers who built this thing changed some of the code to make it more universal to a standard classic cab. You can see this most clearly in games such as Centipede or Arkanoid, which should use a trackball and spinner respectively, yet are controlled by the joystick in this set-up. Same thing with Pinball Action. You cannot install a trackball and spinner and get them to work with this board, unless you have an interface board (maybe an Optipac?) that will convert the inputs from those devices to inputs a Jamma board can interpret as joystick movement.

By the way, the stereo sound of Gyruss will sound off unless you put better speakers in your cab. I have an original Gyruss, and the 48-in-1 sound just doesn't seem right coming out of an original Pac-Man speaker....

Modessitt,

I am referring to some errors in the KLOV database like Van-Van Car listed as an 8-Way game:

http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=10291

...and Dig Dug II also being listed as an 8-way game:

http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=7582

There are a couple more I do believe...and there are a couple listings (Super Cobra for example) that don't list the number of directions for it's stick.

I'm sure the difference in sound isn't the speaker so much as it is the programming on the board.

FF,

I know, but I thought I'd mention it as your original post was about disabling games in your 48-in-1 that needed controls that you don't currently have. I wanted to point out that some of those games have been changed from what they should be if they were in an original cab, regardless on what info KLOV provides per heir controls.

But I agree KLOV should be as accurate as possible.
